But anyway, since you're too stupid to figure things out, A&M (the graduates of which would never consider coaching Texas, as you posit) have done one even worse: they hired a former Longhorn football player and former Texas assistant coach to lead their beloved football team.

That is vice versa from the scenario I am talking about. You know that right? And there are other factors that I mentioned as well.

A&M guy would choose his alma mater over UT, if all else is equal. UT guy wouldn't give a frick where he went to college.

Actually it was a successive poster who pointed out that he'd take A&M's job if it opened, not you.

But continue with your story.

It's gotta be that Herman is going to LSU ... would make complete and total sense. He's be the perfect fit there.

That and the Citadel loss did not help us in his mind probably.

I hate it for Carolina - but Herman would make total sense at LSU.

LSU doesn't have a HC job open yet. There's just a lot of speculation right now.

I think Texas has eyes on Chad Morris too.

That's just crazy. When I lived in Austin six years ago, he was the head coach of Lake Travis High. If Texas ended up hiring him, that's a pretty meteoric rise. That's also a leap of faith for Texas to hire a coach that is currently 2-9 at SMU.

He and his wife are supposed to be in town next week. Has agreed in principal to the job as long as they like what they see when they get here...or so multiple outlets are now reporting.

Once that ink dries I'm gonna be all over this site telling every one of you that doubted and said he'd never come to SCAR to SUCK IT HATERS!!!! (looking hard at you, Mizzou)

He's younger, hungrier, and cheaper. And I think smarter.

And so are many college students but that doesn't make them better for the LSU coaching position.

Personally I would love for UT to get Morris. Would be great job prep for him for when our job opens up and we take him from them
