frick Ogeron I cant believe so many guys are sweating this dumbass. Obviously all that crap about him wanting to stay in La was just a ploy by him and Jimmy "sleazy" Sexton. He aint bigger than LSU and Knoxville aint Los Angeles. I will take Miles Chavis and Crowton any day. Besides am sure now Miles and Chavis will want to shove it up UT's arse and break it off. I didnt want that backwards arse idiot representing LSU anyway. If he wants to play games he can go with the hillbillies. He was a quitter when he came to LSU in 79 and once a quitter always a quitter in my book. frick him we dont need him LSU has been around a lot longer than Ed fricking Ogeron and done just fine. I dont care if we hear about him ever again. Good riddance now lets go get a DL coach who can actually speak the english language!!!!!!

Bobby Hebert says he found out 5 minutes ago, reporting on WWL right now. Says Lane & Monte Kiffin flew to destin and wouldn't leave Orgeron alone. Says Tennessee upped the money offer even more. All I really have to say is if your not a Tiger your Tigerbait!!!!!!!

TN needs him more than we did and it showed. How can he improve recruiting relative(sorry) to what we were going to pay him? Not worth it. I'm actually relieved. Now Chavis can go get someone he likes for half the price and I bet there will be better harmony amongst the "D" coaches now. O has a screw loose. Would you want to have to interact with Yaw Yaw everyday if you were Chavis?

I don't necessarily disagree with anything you just said. I'm just a little pissed because I feel like we got played somewhat. I'll get over it.

Oh, and the dig at Hebert was more of an opportune free shot than anything else. I just don't like the guy because he's a douchebag IRL.

Not sure what your deal is with Hebert, but I have met him before and had a pretty long conversation with him, he seemed like a pretty good guy to me.

Havent read this whole thread, but here are my opinions:

O is a good recruiter, we are LSU.....we dont need O to recruit La. This is where our blood is buttered.

O is a mediocre coach, I dont care how much 'fire' he has. When left to his own devices, he has NEVER performed.

Monte Kiffin and O will ruin the Tennessee defense, the Tampa Two will NOT work on the college level, it takes a unique blend of athletes to run...when facing similar talent.

This is a disappointment for those of us that thought Coatch O: (1 ) was a fire needed at LSU and (2) is a great recruiter.

However, if money or other personal matters attracted him to UT, then he wasn't what "we" thought. He's a great recruiter, regardless, but I want someone with ambition that sees LSU as their opportunity... not a bargaining chip... if their heart isn't with us.

We'll be fine.

I want someone who will

sorry... the game.... i like the way our individual players (C.Jones !) came out.

nothing against Coach O... LSU is bigger than this dance... and I hope we learn from it.

Seriously I thought CLK was in trouble if "Coach O" went to LSU...I mean like him or not..He can bring in those recruits...Look at what he left Houston Nutt...With him being at LSU..I didn't see UT getting a player from Louisiana..Mississippi or Texas.... Kiffin HAD TO HAVE A PROVEN RECRUITER IN THE SEC and he paid up to get him..Now..whether he sold his Soul to the Devil remains to be seen..Give him a couple of years to recruit and Monte to coach that D...we will be back in the hunt...

I don't say screw you or Coach O or anyone at UT. And, it's not my money. Personally, I don't like calls that are "defensive" when it comes to hires that effect the University.

There is definitely something to be said for going out and getting what you want. If the reports are accurate, I think Miles gave it everything he could to make it happen. Is O a good DL coach and recruiter...yes.

But I think there were enough questions regarding chemistry with Miles and the staff as well as character issues to think it had a fairly good chance of not working (also could have been great).

Sometimes the best things that happen to you are the things that don't (or when you don't get what you wanted). We will see on this one. The most important thing now is to get better DL coaching.

Listen folks, with some of the coaches being let go in the NFL. Les can find a great DL Coach.

I'd sit back and pick and choose.

I hope Coach O realizes he has just burned his last bridge with LSU...and Louisiana!
