LSU should've upped the offer. A 200K more to have coach O more than makes up for it with increased merchandise sales, ticket sales, and donations toward the program.
i don't know anyone that has ever bought merchandise or donated to a program because of the DL coach.

Who is his agent again?

sexton.

Exactly...this is what he does, plays one team against another. Fakes interest in the school that his client doesn't really want to be at so he can get more from the one he does.

I'm so tired of this crap.

I don't care where he goes, just go there already.

Your nutts, Is O a good coach yes.

Is he a good recruiter yes.

But this is LSU we currently have the #1 class without him being here., so he wouldn't make that damn big of a difference. I wish he had come here but he didn't its time to move on. Chavis is a damn good proven DC in the SEC thats good enough for me. Now lets go hire a good DL coach. Ed Orgeron is not bigger than LSU. LSU would have helped him far more than he could help LSU. He didn't see it that way so let it go.

Coach "O" apparently told Jamie Newberg that That it's official...IT'S TENNESSEE... Seems both the Kiffin's flew down last night and wouldn't leave until they had "O"s name on the dotted line!... That was the one thing CLK lacked...A BIG TIME RECRUITER...I think he just got that in Coach "O".... Plus he just signed two coaches from the Rams... Chaney who was Joe Tiller's offensive Co. at Purdue...Coached Drew Brees and Kyle Orton... and Db coach Jimmy Lake who worked with Monte K at Tampa Bay..

Glad to see Coach O off the LSU staff before he arrived.. It seems fitting that he would bail before even starting the season as he did after 1 practice when a player at LSU.. He's a big baby/quiter in my book.

We don't need any quiters and cry baby as a coach.

Congrats on the hire. Imagine how effective O will be as a recruiter when he doesn't have bowl games to prepare for.

If the vols are willing to pony this much serious money for coach O, does this send the message that Kiffin is weak on recruiting and needs Orgeron to close the gap.

When he was at Ole Miss he supposedly had questionable morals and ethics in addition to being a hot head.

When he was going to be our D Line coach he was going to be the end all be all for recruiting, which has gone well without him, and be the cure for what ails the line. We can find a replacement and for recruiting - winning is Miles' kryptonite for Saban and Orgeron recruiting players in Louisiana.

Let's hope he wins in 2009.

No it signals Tenn is tired of playing second fiddle to GA and FL. They want to compete with the big boys now.

Tenn got what they wanted all along a star studded coaching staff. With NFL assistants across the board recruits will be going to TENN now.

Congrats to TENN for wanting the best possible defensive staff they could get

The fact is Tennessee has to win still. Recruits will still rather go to a Florida, Bama, or LSU that has proven it gets people to the next level while waiting for Tenn to prove if they can or can't handle the college level. Last time I checked Lane Kiffin still hasn't proven anything.
