One man bidding war, who do you have?

I welcome suggestions to this list. If all things are equal, and 1 person/family/company is footing the bill, who hires the best coach?
Arkansas - Jerry Jones/Walmart
Oregon - Phil Knight
Oklahoma State - T. Boone Pickens
Houston - Tilman Fertitta

They have the money, but do they have the passion and willingness to spend?

Lots of money right there, but the question is who has the will to spend the MOST on a coach.

Enlighten us on his presence around the program and how much he donates annually.

12. LSU: James Bernhard Jr. One of Louisiana's most successful businessmen, Bernhard built the Shaw Group, an energy, chemical, and construction company, into a Fortune 500 business before selling it in 2013 for $3 billion. A major LSU benefactor, Bernhard was once named the Tiger booster organization's "Member of the Year." He is also a prolific Democratic donor—notably, he gave $100,000 to Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe—and was briefly a candidate for the Secretary of Energy post in President Obama's cabinet.
Does he even move the needle around LSU anymore? Maybe he's still a big time donor?
To answer the OP I'd go with Phil Knight based on his willingness to pony up millions.

Arkansas also has the Tysons

I kinda hope LSU lands Fisher, Texas gets Chip Kelly and Phil Knight and Fertitta get into a bidding war.
Fertitta apparently won't be outbid but there are reports that Knight will pay 10mil/year for a coach.

Exactly, that's why it's a bidding war. At some point each one will say that the top coach isn't worth X amount more than the 2nd best coach. Some will have an ego aspect in the bidding war as far as not wanting to be outbid by a pizza guy (PaPa John's/Louisville) or wanting to bring the first major national championship to their school.

I thought about them too, but didn't want to list 3 in a 1 man bidding war. Isn't the track field named after them?

They're a few other alums with more money than him but like its been said. Not sure if they are big donor's though however.

Will the Walk-Ons/Raising Canes be able to pass the Oil & Gas people as far as influence go at some point?

Jerry Jones can barely hire a good coach for the professional team that makes him money.
