No way on God's green Earth will Dan Mullen be the next coach at Penn St. Mullen missed his chance to jump two years ago.

That may be the case, but I've heard that he's tried to get about 4 other jobs since he's been state's coach.

I'm sure he has. He can try all he wants, nobody will hire him. Ship sailed.

Here's what concerns me about OBrien to Houston reports.

1. Nobody reported possible interview
2. Mort and crew while knowledgable aren't reporting numbers
3. The Texans still are playing and they have to satisfy Rooney rule.
4. You can not interview any NFL coaches or assistants during game week.
5. If you hire someone from another NFL team it has to be at a higher position. I have never understood that rule . But my point is, that goes to reasons 3 and 4.

I thought the interview happened like a week ago though? Reportedly, obviously.

Okay I didn't know that. But reasons 3 and 4 still stand. If they're found to circumvent the system it nullifies everything lose picks etc.

Reported Possible Interview

Numbers (real numbers, not the 10 year $100M type numbers) usually don't get reported until the deal is done. To let negotiated numbers leak out can bite you if your primary candidate passes on the job then you've allowed the second choice candidate leverage in negotiations as he knows what you are willing to pay.

Rooney Rule Satisfied

I picked him to Texas just missed by one letter.

My pick on the 14th of December.

I put it on MSB somewhere also.

Oh I wasn't trying to rub it in or anything, just seemed like all along he was gone from PSU, and you seemed like a potential hold out he'd stay, so I was just curious... If I remember right you're an SEC bball fan like myself, so I look forward to our mutual misery come March

I'm SEC fan in all sports but academics. I then become a fan of Johns Hopkins and the Ivy League. I front run and bandwagon the best.

I hate Michigan. I will root for Kentucky until Cal does his ego thing. He always screws up a game because he wants to yell for no reason.

I'm just weak and vulnerable after another late-game collapse by Alabama, so I'd cheer for anybody

This search could be interesting. Maybe they'd hire someone with Southeastern recruiting connections. Somebody that's still young enough, but has nice credentials. Smart? Muschamp? Freeze?

NCAA has already started easing many of the bogus sanctions on Penn State. I would not be surprised if the NCAA declared Penn State bowl eligible for next season.

Yep raping little boy is really no big deal. They should have salted the ground and burned the place to the fricking ground.

You're so ignorant with that post. Please do not let facts get in the way of your biases. NCAA had no jurisdiction over Penn St case.
