I remember that... it was the first time in history a high school kid changed his mind about what college to go to. Saw the lifetime movie about it last week.... Paul Reuben played a fantastic Lloyd Carr and Mickey Rooney as Bo was brilliant

If miles leaves LSU he is no different than Saban- his word is no good. The Baltimore Sun is quoted as saying if he leaves- he leaves his integrity behind

I think he will be worse than Saban if he leaves. Look at the Presser before the game, the visit he made when his contract was approved and the police escort by LSU police he had right afterwards to get him to the airport for the flight to Orlando with Dorsey.

Integrity, you guys thought when Jai Eugene gave a verbal to Michigan but signed with LSU was OK.

i thought that Jai showed great integrity when he made the decision to stay home in Louisiana with his child and child's mother. It would have been easy to run away from that situation to Michigan. But, I'm proud to say that he wanted to be an active father in his child's life.

That is why you can change your mind up until you actually sign the papers as a recruit. The whole recruiting process is set up to allow the recruits to change their minds. These are 17 and 18 year-olds who are making life altering decisions with high powered pitchmen putting lots of pressure on these inexperienced young men. It's not like a mature adult who has just signed a contract worth potentially 3.5 million a year and who has said he is staying at LSU.

The problem with Miles leaving now is not just that he had signed a contract, but that he has repeatedly said that he will be at LSU next year, including to the BOS committee. It will look very bad if he is seen as leading folks on when he really intended to go to Michigan all along if offered.

I don't think he is leaving, however. I think the Rubicon has been crossed on this one for now.

Your comparison on the integrity issue is a joke. A highschool player giving a NON BINDING commitment and then changing his mind happens in every conference in the country. JE has a child down here and he realized how much he would miss his child..that was the major factor in changing his mind. UM messed up and all that you can do now is try and make everyone else miserable by spreading BS. This conversation, of unknown nature, took place Friday...according to Michigan sources, NOT La. sources, and Coach Miles met with a recruit over the weekend & promised the kid that he would be his HC at LSU. This from the kid himself. That means more to me than any newspaper reporters ramblings.

MichiganMan how serious is the present admin at UM about your program. The way they are going about things is like they feel this coaching issue is no big deal. They knew Carr would probably be gone after the season and they are only now getting serious about looking.

The Meyer thing shows how clueless the reporters are on this thing. Do you really think Urban Meyer is gonna walk away from two years of Tim Tebow! Tebow could lead Fla to two more national titles!

The priorities are something like this:
1. Attend boat show in South Florida
2. Grovel for football coach

I think people who think like this are fricking stupid and horribly insecure. Les Miles could literally spit in my face in exchange for an SEC and National championship. I have absolutely no problem with him lying right to my face either if the end to his means was to avoid distraction so his team could go win these championships. Knowing the backlash he would inevitably receive, I'd argue that it's noble even. A lot of people need to get over themselves. We're about to win the national championship and y'all are crying because a man you've probably never met--who is in the coaching business--somehow personally offended you.

Agreed, Carl. I don't put any stock into what a coach says publicly about their interest in jobs, etc. It's naive, in my opinion, to do so. If he wants to coach Michigan, he can go and it's not a problem, to me. It's only an issue because the media won't let it die and they're trying to put him in a corner. It's none of their business really what he does.

I bet Jimmy Ott just cant wait to go on the air today to give ESPN and the Michigan media idiots more fuel to the fire because he'll be a 'louisiana local source' agreeing with all of them.

This reporter is definitely delusional. We're not getting Les and we're definitely not getting Urban. Bill Martin sucks. He has no idea what he's doing and it's going to cost us big time in the end. At this point having contact with Miles is just his attempt to placate the angry alum/former players so the email flood will stop.

Exactly! UM doesn't seem to get that football is a big money making bussiness. The present admin seems to be treating this like they need to fill an academic opening.

Why not? As far as we know, he had no offer from Michigan. In fact, at the time, it looked like Schiano was Michigan's guy.
