Michigan bungled there coaching search- they'll have to wait until January 8th to make a decision now and see what happens. Maybe they get lucky and Les really is a coward with no integrity.

How can you not believe Les after that press conference before the SECCG tho? He was adamant about the fact he was going to be at LSU next year.

you guys bashing Les again need to be careful. How did you look Saturady of the SECCG after Les held his press conf?

I would not bash Les Miles as a coach because he has done a great job this year getting us to the NC. Who ever was in charge for calling the press conference before the game deserves bashing for that decision.

I think the press conference had no place just several hours before the game. It really kind of solidified that the whole weekend was about Miles and not the players playing the game. Everything said during the press conference about the Michigan situation could have been said after the game. He could have told his players he was staying and addressed the fans afterwards. It was just dumb that it occurred when it did.

I think people who think like this are fricking stupid and horribly insecure. Les Miles could literally spit in my face in exchange for an SEC and National championship. I have absolutely no problem with him lying right to my face either if the end to his means was to avoid distraction so his team could go win these championships. Knowing the backlash he would inevitably receive, I'd argue that it's noble even. A lot of people need to get over themselves. We're about to win the national championship and y'all are crying because a man you've probably never met--who is in the coaching business--somehow personally offended you.

I think this is spot on.

That said, you can't blame people if they wind up irritated if Les *does* leave. Why? Because it would mean that he said things he didn't have to, like this:

“I’m thrilled to be here. I’m thrilled to be LSU’s head coach. I’m thrilled to be on the campus,” Miles told the LSU Board of Supervisors before signing the deal. “I look forward to many years as the LSU head coach.”

All that said, I'm not sure exactly how I'd play my cards if I were a coaching dying to return to my alma mater *AND* dying to win the BCS title game that is coming up in a few weeks. I think I'd "talk friendly" to my alma mater but make it clear that this is the last conversation until Jan 8th. And, if my alma mater needed to go hire a coach because they couldn't wait until Jan 8th, I'd say I understand and wish them luck.

Miles opened this can of worms by talking with UM. Whether the talk was about the job or not, he created this media storm by talking with UM. After all that went down prior to this, fans would be dumb not to critize the man who said there was no interest.

It's like your old girlfriend. You don't care about her anymore, but you keep calling. What's up with dat?
