do any of you know the concept of offensive scheme and how it takes certain players to run the schemes. Contrary to what you may think, just because JJ runs with the ball, doesn't make him a spread qb. We just signed a top level drop back qb in Mett. Rich Rod's offense is not suited to our players. Think people. Plus, Rich Rod had violations at both WVU and UM as a head coach. NO. NO. NO. NO.

Petrino...NO.NO. NO. Is a career job jumper. If you were a hiring manager, his resume would be a huge red flag to not hire. Plus, he couldn't get it together to prepare his team to beat TOSU with a month to prepare. NO.

Malzahn, the last time he was in charge of a whole team was at the High School level. That was less than 10 years ago. What makes him even remotely qualified to run one of the top programs in the nation. He needs to start small before jumping up to the big boys. Plus, BCS conference teams with his offense have only won more than 8 games when they had D-Mac or Cam. Two of the best SEC players in recent history.

Let me guess, you want Gruden or Saban?
You probably weren't pleased when Les Miles was hired, were you?

I think the petrino bashing is a bit stupid given his recent contract extension.

Bama lost to Utah a few years ago, and you lost to JoPa last year for cryin' out loud.

I'd roll the dice on him. I would love to pair him up with Chavis. If he's a hit, LSU football would be the most exciting thing to watch for a very long time.

Not even a valid point. His offenses have always scored high, the defense lost most of those games. Especially in C-USA because it is an offensive league.

I just don't know who we will get that's better... Seems more and more coaches are staying put. Seems like they fear Rich Rod situations. Just don't know who we will get that's better.

That's the point I'm trying to make, it may not look better now but could turn out very well in the future. Who really expected Miles to have this much success when he was hired?

This appears to be the theme of this year's coaching searches and I'm not sure why. The only schools that have been turned down were Miami and Michigan. Apparantely Michigan lost their first choice to the 49ers and Mullen turned Miami down because he thought Fl was his. Other than that I haven't seen all this staying put sentiment that seems to be the feeling.

Actually, I want Les. I don't want him to go anywhere. I am actually on record several times for this.

This is where I argued on behalf of Les early in the season.

THis is what I thought when the UM stuff cranked up again.

This is how I felt after Cotton:

If Les goes, he needs to be replaced with a top level guy. No lets see how they work out guys like Rod or Malzahn.

I would definitely take Saban back...but I want Miles to stay.

I really just want someone who is going to still use a power balanced offence. Our team is built for power run game. Our backs are a big strength with big OL here and coming in. Off of this we can be successful throwing the ball using TE's and getting safety's in the box to hit deep routes.

Spread Offense is great and I know that there are two teams in the Championship this year with it, but it's football at LSU. I don't want us throwing the ball 55 times a game.

I wish but he is not coming here.

Mitch Mustain was also a drop back passer. Otherwise he would be Houston Nutt's favorite.

Oklahoma (Stoops), Arizona (Stoops), Georgia (Richt), Miss. State (Mullen), Louisville (Petrino) have all done well with hiring coordinators. Florida just hired one

We have acquitted ourselves well if we can get Malzahn.

Lets be honest, we have the facilities, we have the talent pool in our neighborhood but

we play a monster schedule year in year out, and our fans have delusional sky high expectations. Hell we wanted to can the man who is now leaving when he was undefeated after 7 games in the SEC

Rich had a borderline mental breakdown..not coming

Bobby P...less than 1% chance. Who the frick really wants that snake anyway. It would cost us a fortune and we would be made fun of for years.

Malzahn would mean we are truly desparate and willing to gamble it all. Sadly it's a possibility.

My list of likely candidates (not candidates that I want necessarily but what I think the AD is looking at):

Mullen
Pelini (puke)
A coordinator with previous ties to LSU or Louisiana

Statements like this are just too strong.

For any coach in the country you can make a list of why we shouldn't hire them for this this and this.

Every coach (person) has strengths and weaknesses... that's what the hiring process is all about.

I'd rather not have Rich or Bobby... I'm a big fan of Malzahn, but I'd have to interview him to know whether or not I want him to be my head coach.
