With Lanning saying no, it becomes more likely

If DaBoer says no, they may have to because the fans do not want Norvell

Kiffin would be a fricking moron to leave Ole Miss.

They are rolling right now, set up for a top 5 season next year, and he has 1/10000000th the pressure in Oxford as he'd have in Tuscaloosa. They will be happy barely making the 12 team playoff 2 out of every 3 years.

I can see how that conversation will go:

Byrne: “Lane, how would you like to be our……”

Kiffin: “Yes.”

People say this shite all the time and underestimate the ego of the average SEC football coach.

Bama doesn't appear to have been prepared for this.

If Kiffin's being quiet, that could well be a sign, they're offering or he's asking.

Why? That guy falls arse backwards into head coaching jobs like nobody I've ever seen. He can jump ship to Bama, make $10M/year, and if it doesn't work out he'll probably end up with a OC gig somewhere for a year or two and fall arse backwards into another HC gig. It's just what he does.

He makes $9m at Ole Miss

With relatively no pressure and insane job security.

It's a reverse smokescreen. No tweets means no one is talking to him but wants people to think that. It makes Ole Miss brass nervous and opens their pocketbooks yet again.

McElroy is saying he has burned too many bridges at Bama and is not being considered. I would assume McElroy has some connections in the AD offices, could be his speculation or could be smoke screen.

Bama isn’t that desperate yet.
