UT fan base in crisis mode now. I talked to a couple of UT fans tonight and they were trying to convince me that LSU needs to hire Orgeron. When I stated Orgeron wasn't among the first 2 choices, the UT fans stated Herman would wait on UT to make its decision on Strong even if that decision took a few days. UT is about "morals and standards", etc.
I told both that the UT "morals and standards" are ironic considering UT has treated Chuck Strong like garbage since he was hired. The UT admins have micromanaged Strong since the outset and significant boosters such as Red McCombs have been opposed to Strong since his hiring.
Be glad you don't live in Austin and have to listen to UT's pablum puke. I hope LSU hires Herman just to witness the UT melt.

UT boosters who want Herman are the source of the leaks. It's desperation time at UT.

Idk heard from multiple sources about that. UT baseball and track coach has had major alcohol incidents recently
UT has had very limited contact with Herman lately though
TX governor is also involved cuz he doesn't want UT to take another state school's coach
UT prez said decision will be made after reg season ends as well. So tmrw should be interesting. May have to convert to LSU if Strong comes back for another yr
Personally I think it's legit besides the Herman is for sure signing part for now.
Still think he's gonna stall unless UT straight up tells him he's not a candidate

They should hire Joel Osteen or Pat Robertson to adhere to their high morals and standards. It's going to be funny when they hire Art Briles though

Austin is an odd place.
Have a kid at UT so have spent time there as a parent.
There's a weird split between old school UT/Austin people and the newer ones that are representative of what UT has become (over the top liberal bastion, don't offend anyone, etc.).
Seems to have filtered into athletics.
Between that divide, and the inflated egos which both groups seem to possess, it's hard to see them getting this potential hire right.
Have a kid at UT so have spent time there as a parent.

And I believe what they are saying is true, that is why Alleva was is trying to get this done quickly. Texas is trying to save face in the PR world with Strong act like this last game matters. They have a slim chance of winning and the powers that be know it. We did the same thing with Ed O after the Florida loss the media got quiet on him. During last nights game the announcers were once again pining for O. It's disgusting the way they try to sway public opinion.
