I don't think Les Miles has ever been offered the Michigan job. I'm certain he was never offered the job in 2007, and I'm not sold that they wanted him in 2010.

Les Miles seems to be trending a bit downward, and that's not only based on his tweet on Thursday referring to Florida as a "permanent opponent".

do they not understand this was a reference to LSU and florida in the SEC playing each other every year? that tweet has nothing to do with Les staying at LSU

So, we are observing Miles' tweets and concluding that he's less a candidate? That's the 247 update?

The main reason Miles is not a candidate at most other jobs is because LSU is a destination job, he already makes $4M, and he's got LSU rolling. Miles is a respected coach that most schools would love to have (even with his quirks and Milesisms).

It really doesn't. Les and Alleva went to the SEC Meetings last year with the agenda of doing away with the "permanent" cross over games since we have Florida and Alabama gets Tennessee. Yes, you have a permanent cross over game and rotating cross over game. This tweet was a dig at the SEC.

We have a coach that even his own school does not want, please explain how this is a win.

Miles ain't leaving his talented roster to start over at Michigan. Plus, I would imagine his kids would hate the winters up North.

Well, they haven't exactly been the best evaluators of coaching talent, so it really shouldn't matter.

Um, Manny Miles has Michigan at the top of his list of schools for next year.

Michigan has to be the most delusional fan base in America. Harbaugh? Stoops?

Yeah, I'm going to go out on a limb and say neither of these "Candidates" give Michigan the time of day.

Good point. But if they have Harbaugh ahead of Miles for this search, they at least appear to be correcting previously poor evaluations.

Sounds like you have an inferiority complex and self confidence issues if you are upset that Michigan doesn't want to hire the coach of your school.

What a ridiculous criticism of les. Keep reaching, stretch.

He was offered, and tried to accept.

He was not offered in 2010.

No need to stretch, numbers speak for themselves. Offensive roster littered with 4 and 5 star recruits that puts up 127 yards of total offense against a team that was 0-17 in the conference the previous 2 1/2 years.

Talent was not the problem.

Disagree to an extent. Les simply isn't worth it to most schools at the overvalued price he has through LSU.

His successes have always been questioned, and there is significant doubt that he could rebuild a program from mediocre to championship level, rather then keeping a championship program maintained.

He's not that highly regarded, despite what most of his fans would like to believe. UF was more than willing to help pay a $7 Million buyout for a coach from CSU, yet no one is willing to pay Les Miles $4.5 Million a year?

Think about that?
