my sources say thats weird, he signed an extension a few months ago and then gets another after losing to auburn?

Whoever his successor I'm hoping people will take a second to acknowledge what a difference Mack made to Texas football. He took a program that was down in the doldrums and made them a powerhouse again for over a decade. That is being significantly under-appreciated at the moment because his last few seasons have not lived up to his standards.
Unfortunately this will not be the story. Even if Texas shows appropriate institutional respect for Mack's accomplishments the news media and fans will be more interested in who the successor will be than what a run Mack did enjoy.
