I agree that Jimbo is a frickstain for trying to gouge LSU, if true. So much for having a special place in his heart. Close to 7M is absurd money and if he turned that down, frick him.

Herman is worth every penny of 6M and we will see that in the very near future.

A blank check to the coach who lost to Memphis and SMU this season? Screw that!

I don't blame LSU for not getting in a bidding war..... The only real sure thing would have been Fisher, everyone else is a roll of the dice just like Orgeron..... It's really easy for you guys to say that when it's not your money

I'd have been very pleased with numerous other non pipe dream candidates.

Probably could have gotten Fleck for 4.5-5M. I guess the issue is if the current staff, mainly Aranda, would hang around and who he could get at OC.

If O can keep Aranda and obtain Kiffin, I'll feel slightly better.

So if 7 million is overpaying for a coach with an nc or one with universally acknowledged potential, then what is 3 million for a guy who went 3-21 in the SEC?

The market has been set. If you believe a coach is going to bring your program ships you pay the man. Texas just paid the man. We'l will see who made the right decision in a few years. I fear I already know.

Herman is a big 12 guy. He would get killed against Alabama.

Regardless, he's still a billion times a better choice for the job than Orgeron.

I'm in favor of 'this hire. At worst O doesn't do the job but he will have a stocked roster with no big buyout fir the next coach. At best he blows the doors off and we win
