Austin is my age but I never got to pitch against him. Would have liked to. Didn’t realize he had issues later on. The A’s drafted him in the Moneyball era iirc.

its Austins older brother
i personally love the hire. Has deep family roots in the LHSAA with his dad being long time mcneese coach and long time zachary defensive coach Johnny Nagle.
Slade was big time qb in HS, was good at McNeese, has been very good St Coord and TE coach. Also been qb coach. I know tulane fans were not happy with him but he was good before the qb went down. IMO most of their issues were from injuries.
When he practically took over playcalling during the Cotton bowl year...they didnt have a problem with it. only this year and only after the injuries
but wtf more could you ask for in a TE coach. Former high level QB with OC success, TE success, ST Coord Success...and known as a good recruiter and is from a family that is loved in by LHSAA coaches. WTF more you want? Great guy on top of that

He had to be an analyst/GA back then. Joe Robinson was the special teams coach back then. STs were very good under him.

He seems to be ok now. Teaches hitting, etc. to kids in Lake Charles last I heard. His son is a really good young player from what I understand.

yea austin is good now, has a successful hitting business, married with a couple kids.
his son is one of the best young players in the state. Amazing humble kid and great talent.

Played football and baseball against him in HS. Tough competitor and it looks like he's taken that edge with him to his professional life.
