"LSU coach Les Miles, who was pursued by Michigan before it hired Rodriguez to replace Lloyd Carr, tweeted Wednesday that "I have not heard a word from Michigan." "

Its not whether he has heard from Mich., its whether his agent has received the call.

Oh I am sure that is possible.

But I still do not see how his quote can be seen as putting out the word.

I agree. On another note though, last time the rumor was that Martin rejected the search committee twice when coming with Miles as the guy. Different AD though...

He didn't tweet it, he answered a question at the press conference

Thank you. ESPN with shitty reporting once again.

When was the press conference?

I think it will be a very quiet process this time around to avoid making the same mistake twice.

Unless Miles directly states that he is staying at LSU, the more momentum this story will keep.

That quote is being over analyzed. I take it for face value, which is quite literally, he has not heard a word from Michigan.

Just because he doesn't come right out and pre emptively say he's not interested in the job doesn't mean he's putting the word out.

Agree, Miles can kill the story if he wanted too. The fact he isn't is adding fuel to the fire.

He also could pull a Saban " I will not be the next coach at Alabama - Aight "

He answered a a question from a reporter. Randy Rosetta reported it on his Twitter message. Everything else is the media creating a story rather than just reporting facts. It's what they do, especially ESPN.
