I, for one, hope Les gets a job somewhere to free up some buyout money so LSU doesn't go cheap on its head coaching hire...

this is LSU we're talking about.
we're going to somehow manage to go cheap while simultaneously grossly overpaying the new guy.

Doesn't he have to actively look for jobs in order to continue receiving his buyout payments? If so he will put his name in for every job in the country with no real expectation of landing any of them. Les has shown that he doesn't mind making himself look a fool in public to satisfy his private agenda.

i never read the actual language of his contract, but they typically require the coach to make a "good faith effort" an to take a job at "fair market value".

He'll have em hire Cam as HC and assert his control from behind the scenes.

I said that a few days ago. I may be proven wrong, but I would be surprised to see Les take a job this year. He can sit at home and collect 1.5 to 2 million a year. How much would USF pay him? It won't be near the 4+ he was making here. Even if it's 2 million per year he'd almost be working for free.

Les is in a weird spot. I think a lot of this chatter is agent related.

UH is worried about someone leaving them in 3-4 years, but Miles could very well retire in that amount of time.

USF doesn't seem a fit based on their past hires, but who knows.

Baylor would've been perfect b/c he could have been there for 3-5 years, changed their culture, gotten them on right path again, and then handed off to someone else.

I'd really like to see Les take the Lee Corso role on ESPN.

Sounds like everyone has a different leading candidate for usf. I've heard schiano, kiffin, and Miles the last couple days.

Every time Les' name comes up in connection with programs that have featured high powered offenses recently, I laugh.

I fear Les is about to learn that when you Larry Coker yourself because of stubbornness, people aren't going to line up to hire you.

What I also find interesting is that all of the media types last year that said LSU can't get a better coach than Miles, and now we discover that fricking Purdue won't even hire the guy. They deride him for being an idiot while at LSU, when LSU is about to fire him, they lionize him.
