Riley had a little more experience but Brady has the NFL experience.

Riley had 13 years college coaching experience when he got the OU job.

Brady has basically 1.

I do like Brady a lot, don’t get me wrong, but he’s not getting the LSU job (or any big college job for that matter), with his minimal college experience.

He probably will get an NFL job soon, because Xs and Os are the main thing and there’s not as much to manage at the pro level.

Not saying Brady can’t do it, but managing an entire program is a far cry from Brady’s role in 2019.

If idiots like Less and O can figure it out, I'm sure a coach with some braincells will manage. It's not rocket science, especially at a school like LSU.

DJ Moore and Curtis Samuel had career years under him last year and it got Samuel paid by WFT. Moore is having an even better year this year. He had Sam Darnold looking like an above average NFL QB the first 4 weeks of the season the wheels have fallen off now though as Darnold stinks. He had Bridgewater playing pretty good ball last year and got another starting gig in Denver. Hes made the most out of what he’s had and McCaffery only having played in like 6 games due to injury since he’s been there.

You don’t think Brady would be smart enough to hire an associate head coach to help with the little things? There’s plenty guys out there who would love to help groom a great young up and comer while making a ton of money.

Look I don’t think Brady is the second coming but I would be happy with the hire. He’s a got a real shot to be special in the football world. Whether it be college or the NFL. Hell he is barely 30 years old.

I wasn’t speaking of recruiting and no where in my post did I mention recruiting.

The guy obviously can recruit. He had who may go down as the greatest college QB in the bag. Not to mention Rakim Jarrett and the other receiver who ended up at Georgia after Brady left.

Recruiting is the issue with Brady and the reason he won’t return to the college game.

If I recall his issue was trusting 18 year old kids to not play games. Until the last week before National signing day he had a WR class of Boutte, Jarrett, Burton, Moore. Only to get left at the alter by 2 of them.

It’s understandable to be frustrated with that situation when you spend all year recruiting these kids.

Not, saying he’ll ever love recruiting or he’s the best option to be LSUs head coach but do think there’s ways this doesn’t happen moving forward at the rate it does with LSU.

I suspect Joe Brady is looking to follow the same course as Sean McVay. He will ultimately get his shot at as an NFL HC. If not next year, then shortly after.

Move on already...

He really has only done the recruiting thing for one year. Heck I don’t like to do a lot of things my boss tells me but you pay me A LOT of money you better believe I’ll do it with a smile everyday.

Brady would not be a hire without risk, but would be a great hire.

Recruiting is easiest for the best coaches

People worry about Aranda or Napier not being ready to take over a big time program. What makes anyone think Brady would be ready. Being able to come up with an innovative offense does not make one a great head coaching candidate.

You are likely talking about 2 separate sets of people. The ones that may be adverse to Napier and Aranda would feel the same about Brady.

I think it’s a mistake to only limit yourself to guys with good track records at major programs. You limit your upside going with someone like Jimbo or Franklin. These guys command huge contracts and buyouts and you may likely wind up with the program they are currently running

Brady is about as good of a coaching prospect as I could imagine. He has yet to prove the stage is too big for his experience, not sure why that would change all the sudden if he is a HC.
