DeBoer leveraged the Washington job to get the Alabama job. If Fisch is good enough for a Top 10 job, he should be able to do the same down the road.

Missing a little context here. UW sort of went all in on their current structure and left them in a very bad place, and I’m not talking about the transfer portal and NIL, that comes with any job

Signing with the Big 10 makes that job a lot more difficult. Especially when they signed up to get a smaller piece of the pie than the rest of the conference for the foreseeable future, and a roster/structure that needs to be completely rebuilt from the ground up

They were already going to hit a bit of a cliff drop off given how old that roster was, but they were betting on the wave of the national title run to reach that next level and even out the money differences and other advantages the big time programs have on them

Now you’re going to a super conference with a gutted roster, less money than the teams you compete with, and after the best season you could possibly imagine, you lost it all to the first blue blood that came calling

Could be some dark days ahead for UW

Yea, I would say 90 percent chance Napier is fired. I think they didn't fire him this year because the schedule next year would be hell for a first-year coach.

Didn't Fisch just get extended with UA last night? I mean, I know contracts don't mean anything but it happened last night.

Seems risky. Arizona will open in the top 10 and be the clear favorite in the Big12 to win the conference and be in the playoff. You aren’t going to have many of those opportunities with what UofA has coming back.

"If" this is true, Lane will be coaching Florida in 2025.

Eh, maybe or maybe not. Not sure Florida can pay any more than Ole Miss. Florida is closer to better recruits, but in today's NIL age I'm not sure there's that big of a recruiting advantage at Florida. Florida is notoriously cheap when it comes to athletic spending (compared to similar SEC schools).

Florida is a weird gig right now. They’ve shown what they can be w right coach but they sure seem to target the most mediocre guys. You’d think 3 straight losing seasons and little national relevance in FIFTEEN yrs would lead to big coach hunting next offseason but who tf knows. The AD probably needs to go first and foremost

If he takes UW gig, they’re going to put a FAT Florida specific buyout in it too.

He better bring a lot more than just his QB. Washington loses a lot and have already lost a few big recruits that were incoming.

Florida screwed the pooch. Florida was his dream job and you guys could have cut bait with Napier but instead will drag him through a lame duck year and a brutal schedule.

Yep, it was a bad rumor. Now it's looking like Fisch.

[Thamel] Sources: Arizona coach Jedd Fisch has emerged as Washington’s top target for the head coaching job. He’s the only candidate Washington officials have engaged with after their initial phone calls.

Brutal for Arizona. Their team is about to get blown up.
