Not sure about the source, but it would makes sense.

Opens up Arizona - Ryan Grub could be a candidate.

Yeh I can’t believe Fisch would take this job

Arizona has like 19 of 22 starters returning, including its QB.

Easily could be a playoff team in 2024 and ride that momentum to a bigger job.

His qb is probably coming with him.

You’re looking at one year. He’s looking at the future. It’s easier to build at roster at UW than Arizona.

Don’t buy that Grubb was turned down. He was always going with Doboer to Bama.

No, I’m not looking at 1 year. I’m looking at what he has coming back at Arizona and parlaying that into a better job than Washington

Washington is around a top 20 job.

With a playoff appearance, Fisch could get a top 10 job.

Penn State? Florida? There’s no telling what could open up. USC?

Arizona Reporters have announced that HC Jedd Fisch has interviewed for the open Washington Huskies job, & WILL take the job if chosen Washington denied OC Ryan Grubb the job earlier today Fisch could bring Fifita/Tetairoa McMillan to Seattle Via: Jason Scheer, 247Sports

I checked Jason Scheer’s account and didn’t see anything confirming this.

I mean he released a statement directly stating that he wanted to be the next Washington HC, but they decided to go a different direction.

Didn’t he release a statement saying he wanted the job?

Also, guys at that level don’t get into coaching just to be a career Coordinator. They’re competitors. Make no mistake about it, they ALL want to be HCs. It’s just not a simple thing to accomplish. If offered a HC spot in a Power 5 conference, he’ll take it.

I mean there aren't THAT many jobs bigger than UW, and most of them don't have openings likely after 2024.

This is basically picking UW over Florida.

Yea, with what he has coming back at Arizona and a weak-arse Big 12, he could be the Kalen Deboer of 2024.

Even if Florida doesn't open up, other good jobs will.

But I understand. You never know what the future holds.

Yeah I mean Bayou Billy may pull off a miracle. If UF is off the table, there aren't many likely openings (especially ones he'd be considered for) better than UW.

DeBoer leveraged the Washington job to get the Alabama job. If Fisch is good enough for a Top 10 job, he should be able to do the same down the road.

If you are UF and it looks like your dream candidate is about to take another job, do you cut bait and fire Napier now?

No way. It's way too late to do that. Especially since there's no guarantee he'd even take the job.

It’s not like this would eliminate him as an option for them.

Buy outs are part of the territory for any “dream hire” and UW/Oregon both have a lot of recent history of losing their coaches to the SEC/Big10/ACC.

Fisch for his part hasn’t been in 1 place for more than 3 years so I don’t think he likes to set down very many roots. His early resume would make a young Kiffin blush at the job hopping

Whatever money they would be saving on a UW buyout, they would likely be paying in a higher Napier buyout

Who is Florida’s main target now once Napier gets canned? I’m looking at gators schedule next season and he’s definitely not surviving that
