Unlike Coach O, CBK not going to hire the first person he talks to. There is going to be some back and forth. At the end of the day we're going to have the right people on staff.

Fun to say that about someone else after hearing it yourself for all these years?

but in my opinion, outside the campus of LSU, Baton Rouge is terrible.

This. I would have preferred shithole, but terrible will suffice.

Why are people freaking out? We had the same gnashing of teeth when Riley went to USC, questioning if LSU or Baton Rouge were so undesirable that no one wanted to come here. Then we STOLE the HC from one of the most storied programs in the history while they still had a chance to make the playoffs! Have people already forgotten what a huge coup LSU pulled off in hiring Kelly?

And as for Baton Rouge being undesirable, would you really prefer to live in Starkville, or Fayetteville, or Oxford, or Auburn, or Tuscaloosa?

Get a grip, people. Kelly has a stellar track record of hiring assistants. Three of his last four DC hires are now head coaches, which is the only reason he is even having to do a search for a DC right now, because his last DC is now HC at Notre Dame. He will find great assistants. Let him do his job.

Location isn't all that relevant for these college coaches. They spending all of their waking hours at the football ops facility. When. They have time off, they go on vacations elsewhere

We fired a coach mid season 2 years removed from a Championship. Kept him on and let the cancer linger. We ran thru coordinators like shite thru a goose the last few years. We are facing tittle IV sanctions and possible NCAA issues. Baton Rouge is a shite hole. We have a depleted roster with no end in site to the bleeding. You get one season to win a Championship before fans are calling for your head and AD appeases the masses. I think it may be more then on or two things that makes us a hard sell.

This!!!!
Those 14 downvotes are from people who lie to themselves. Travel around some, BR is a shithole, our politics make it worse. LSU football is currently a shite show. High level coaches do not want to come to a place that will more than likely ruin their career for a 10% raise! It’s all easy to see when you take off the googles that had you worshiping O’s shrine last week and hating him this week!

Yes. Let’s be like all the other schools. Dumbass.

It’s so sad seeing the amount of childish and immature “grown” men. Some of y’all are literally crying because we actually have a coach taking his time to make the SMART hire instead of panicking and lazy hiring because of pressure from outsiders? Be grateful and stop being so simple minded. We actually have a coach who knows how this shite works. Y’all crying like spoiled children isn’t gonna speed up the process. Chill tf out!

You guys need to face the hard truth. LSU football has taken a hit over the last two years, perception and on field. The last two years haven't been good for you. Orgeron left you a mess. You are going to suffer until or if Kelly can turn it around on the field with wins. It's that simple. The potential/history is still there.

One reason is that some coaches may be comfortable in their current situation and won't uproot their family even if it is for more money. They may feel that they could succeed where they currently are and are happy.

Some could be using the opening to get a raise at their current job.

Also a possibility that some of the coaches LSU may be considering are still coaching.

I could come up with more...but to simply suggest it is just due to BK or Baton Rouge is just silly.

The problem is mainly early signing day

It’s hard to hire good coaches in the middle of the nfl season & hire college coaches from good teams trying to recruit for their other schools down the stretch & others coaching for the playoff

Not comparing the two, but BK and O same troubles hiring coordinators.

O yes BK no. Just because he didn’t hire whoever todays internet rumor is doesn’t mean he is “having trouble hiring coordinators”.

the coaching searches under o and bk both seem to be going slower than other universities.

And that could be for two totally different reasons.

Point is, BK has been here for less than 2 weeks. There's a lot going on and y'all are drawing conclusions based on what you THINK should be happening.

Agreed Baton Rouge has its pros and cons, but so do most places. I always enjoy my trips to Baton Rouge, life is what you make of it!!
