4 out 7 years, Fisher has had 3 or more losses.

And in those three years he has a national title and a CFB playoff appearance.

The idiocy people show towards Jimbo on this site blows my mind.

People need to take into account the football budgets effect on wins.

Jimbo has his promoted former linebacker coach as his DC. Georgia stole Pruitt from him, and guess who has Pruitt now?

I think the issue is wanting to pay him the same as a coach that has won 4 national championships and been in the playoffs every year over that same seven year span.

What about paying him $2 mil less than a coach who struggles to win conference titles and hasn't won a national title?

Why is that not considered?

So your goal is to keep up with a school that makes bad business deals? Good luck then.

And they are paying him to be a personality just as much as a head coach. Do you see Jimbo doing that? I think even he falls asleep when he is talking.

...don't understand that CFB has become an arms race.

You wanna play? You got to pay.

1. Nick Saban Alabama $7.09 million
2. Kevin Sumlin Texas A&M $5 million
3. Hugh Freeze Ole Miss $4.7 million#
4. Les Miles LSU $4.39 million
5. Gus Malzahn Auburn $4.35 million
6. Jim McElwain Florida $4.25 million
7. Butch Jones Tennessee $4.13 million
8. Bret Bielema Arkansas $4.06 million
9. Dan Mullen Mississippi State $4 million^
10. Kirby Smart Georgia $3.75 million
11. Mark Stoops Kentucky $3.5 million
12. Will Muschamp South Carolina $3.0 million
13. Barry Odom Missouri $2.35 million

This is why Jimbo is getting big money. Excluding Miles, 8 SEC coaches are making $4+ and only two of them have even won a conference title.

It's important to be informed before trying to spout off. Helps keep you from looking like a idiotic troll.

You are right. You have proved LSU belongs on that list of schools overpaying for an average coach.
