I'd like the following, IF Miles left (which probably won't happen)

Patterson

RR

Then maybe an up-and-coming guy in a lesser conference.

What coach in recent history has moved from one elite college program to another in recent years? (Saban left for the nfl first)

Yes, coaches are competitive, but they also aren't idiots who don't look for the best situation for them to be competitive.

Then why wasnt her hired when saban left? Guess we were dumb, what would change now that we have an even bigger idiot in charge than we did in 2005?

Was Jimbo a National Championship winning head coach in 2005? Do you honestly not see what has changed in this situation?

I don't think he would leave them on the eve of a acc title/playoff. I don't want to wait until mid jan before LSU makes a hire. That would be horrible from a recruiting standpoint and give too many teams a shot to steal Wilson while we don't have a coach.

As far Jimbo himself, I don't know if I want someone like him at the helm anymore. He has zero control at FSU and Winston bends him over when he pleases. However, I do like the team sweep ability and the winning that follows it. I just prefer him not look like such a bitch to Winston.

My big wig TAF buddy told me that when Miles was considering Arkansas 2 years ago that "they would be on the phone with Jimbo before Les could get off campus."

So yea, I think Jimbo would get the first call. I think he would take it too, with Jameis leaving. I've just really soured on Jimbo with how he has handled everything this year.

Absolutely he would and should be the first call. His offense is much better than what we have. Once he had time to get talent on that fsu defense, they have hit their stride.
He is also probably the best qb developer in college football. Jamarcus, flynn, ponder, manuel, winston

My comment was in general.

I don't think Jimbo would leave FSU to coach LSU.

My point was I don't think coaches live in the scared vacuum that some of these posters do. The OP was a hypothetical.

Bielema and Pederson both have made lateral moves recently. Not exactly what you asked but it's on the same scale

Why would LSU want him? Boom beat him once and should have beaten him twice. That's all I need to know.

Oh yeah, definitely agree. Coaches want to win and on a big scale. But it sort of reminds me also of people thinking Les will leave to get away from Saban. Les isn't going to run away from competition.

Let's see.. better job. Pays more. No major instate schools to recruit against. Familiarity with the area. He's worked here before.

So now we should only hire coaches that have won a title? well that shortens the list tremendously. So he was ready to go be a head coach at FSU but not at LSU? He was at LSU for 6 years, what changed in the 2 years he was at fsu when he took over?

Bielema made his move over disagreements with the admin at wisconsin. I could see Jimbo wanting the same if the rift with the admin is that bad. Im really torn on it, I think x and o Jimbo is a home run but the winston stuff sours me greatly with him. Its not the sweeping either its the lack of control.

If you take the exact teams Jimbo has had at FSU, he might, mightwin the East, but he's looking at 3rd or 4th in the West. Spare me the win over Auburn. I'm talking week in, week out gauntlet that is the SEC. Has his offense been prolific? Hell no. Defense been jaw dropping? Nope. Keep that shite away from LSU. Give me Les Mother fricking Miles all day, every day and twice on Sundays.

Ok, why is LSU a better Job? He isnt making much less than Les now, youd be assuming FSU wouldnt offer him a raise, he makes $4.1 mil rt now. While he has to recruit against other florida teams, they have a way bigger recruiting base than Louisiana. If you look at this past draft, 44 players from Florida were drafted, 10 from LA. So even if he splits those recruits with the other two programs, He still has more access to NFL talent then he would in LA.
