Wouldn't we want a coach that wins and not loses?
Posted on 10/8/16 at 9:57 pm to Paul Allen
we have a few things in our favor over the texas job.
he wouldn't have to appease the overlord boosters at lsu 24/7. he wouldn't have to deal with the lhn.
he would have talent that is ready to rock day 1 at lsu. don't get me started on the texas oline, especially against the shitty dlines they play.
the salary wouldn't be any different. he'll get around 5-6mil from either school. texas isn't fricking stupid. when saban was offered 7mil by texas a few years ago, there's a reason texas didn't go to 8, 9 or 10mil when bama gave him a raise. they aren't fricking stupid.
all that said, i still think he picks texas. i think leaving houston bothers the shite outta him and he'll be at his next stop for a long arse time.

Are people still in here arguing for Coach O over Herman or Fisher?

Well I mean frick, did LSU fans expect any or all of their potential coach targets to go undefeated this year?? sounds like it

Wrong. He will get 7.5
probably will take somewhere in that range to pull Herman. Thing is, Fisher wouldn't be any cheaper.

They just being ridiculous
Navy is probably going to be a ranked team.. they've won a ton of home straight games.. Houston made mistakes but still only lost by 6?
Herman with Aranda would be a dynamite combo
People do this any time a coach loses.. not many go undefeated.. even Meyer lost to a bad VT team when he was loaded and they won it all with Herman taking it to Wisconsin and Alabama,, then who else Oregon??
Give me an offensive or defensive mastermind hc all day
Because then when assistants leave you still excel on one side of the ball at least

No way, that's the point. we deserve better than a guy who has a loss on his resume. It's now #rideforchrispetersen

Those that are disqualifying Herman because of this loss, I'll assume you'll never mention orgeron getting the HC job again. Because he lost MANY MANY MANY games they should have lost. With at least the same talent level Houston has.
Herman will probably be 25-2 after two years, but you would rather the guy 10-25 over 3 years.
I usually don't call names, but y'all are complete idiots.

Herman doesn't deserve the LSU job. He has not even been a head coach for 2 years.

Saban lost to UAB at LSU... Bad losses do happen.

They are being stupid
It was the best thing to happen for us too
Plus they still nearly won that game. At least he doesn't get blown out in multiple games.
Houston wasn't going undefeated, it's just too much pressure. It was a road game and they turned it over and defense didn't hold up.
LSU can always get great DCs while being established. He's still a wonderful hire with Aranda
He beats superior teams with inferior talent. So what if he avgs one loss on the road to a similar team. Houston isn't on par with elite schools regardless of their ranking. They are just highly coached up. Imagine our talent coached up with our great defenses.

Herman/aranda would wreck shop against the SEC. That is truly the most exciting combo we could get without saban coming back.
Since orgeron was named interim, all logic has gone out the window. They will argue against someone while ignoring that same point (most the time even worse) for coach O.
I hope and pray that alleva has more sense than this. But I'm afraid of the public outcry that's going to happen if he does any better than 3 losses.

How absurd is this? Nick Saban makes $7.09 million, Urban Meyer $6.5. Yall want to pluck a 2nd year coach out of non Power 5 conference and make him the highest paid coach in the country? More than 2 guys with a combined 8 national championships...
I like Herman as a coach but Jesus let's settle down. You know why Saban and Meyer make that much money? Because they earned it by winning big boy games.
