I have no problem with him being plan C if a) we can't land Jimbo or Herman, and b) he can run the table. But he HAS to be the third option at best.
I'm okay with him being the 3rd option if he only loses 1 game, but there are a lot a folks who want him hired right now.

As of right this moment, Orgeron Shouldn't even be considered. IMO

Just have to be careful of things taken out of context. Which happens when media personalities want clicks or likes or retweets. Any variation or distortion of what Alleva COULDVE said might be regurgitated by any number of click-hungry people. None of my sources have said Alleva wanted O all along. They've said however that they hope O makes the decision hard because that would mean LSU has had success in a short period of time. A statement such as this could be taken out of context to make it sound like Alleva wanted O all along.

That makes sense. Thanks for the info. Is it still Jimbo #1 and Herman #2?

Well, yeah. But let him finish the season. Like everyone for the most part says, it's his audition.

As of now, Coach O should be option Z

He was 10-25 at Ole Miss as head coach

He was 6-2 interim at USC with wins over:

Unranked Arizona
Unranked Utah
Unranked Oregon State
Unranked Cal
No 5 Stanford
Unranked Colorado
No 20 Fresno in Bowl

with loses to
Unranked Notre Dame
No 22 UCLA

as LSU interim he is 2-0 with wins over

unranked Mizzou
unranked Southern Miss

AS OF RIGHT NOW, Coach O is a terrifying proposition that should be behind a long long long line of coaches.

If he can run through murderers row, we can reconvene. But at this moment, our admin should not be considering him.

Agreed but you can say that about everyone. We should let the season play out and then figure out who we want. Obviously it would be good to compile a list as we go but this decision doesn't need to be made for another couple of months.

Calm down, no way he is at the top of the list like Benjamin Albright states in his tweets. Texas's defense is a disgrace which is what he is known for, not happening unless our first 8 choices turn us down.

The guy pushing this said he heard it from a "guy" when he was gifted with air time on Sirius College Sports Radio. What kind of source is that? I think I'll start my own rumor.

You people kill me with the O shite talking. You're condemning a guy for taking over at a program and losing to a few people, then in the same breath suck off Tom Herman for doing the exact same thing. Herman lost to UConn, and Navy, so far. Herman hasn't ever built a program either.

Herman
Taking over someone else's program
Has losses to people he shouldn't
Has wins over people he shouldn't
Less than two years of recent HC history

O
Taking over someone else's program
Has losses (at USC) he shouldnt
Has wins he shouldn't
Less than two years of recent HC history.

Herman may be the next Saban, who knows? O could just as well be the next Saban if he had a shot.

and just think. Charlie Strong's record at Texas makes CEO HC record look like dog shite.

Or a smokescreen. Hiring a fired coach after firing a coach is not going to happen

A decade ago. A decade ago I was making a lot of mistakes myself, so I don't put that against him. People learn, and it looks like he may be on the right track. We will see going forward. The point is that people aren't even giving him the chance to see if he can perform. They're just writing him off. He may be a bust, but he should get the chance to show he's improved.

I dont understand that "leak". Why would we buy out strong in the first place? If they're saying he will be fired then lsu will scoop him up that's dumb as well. We're gonna wait on texas to decide if he goes in the trash before we dig him out of it? Sounds like that guy was just wanting some attention.

I am not surprised you haven't heard anything because it makes ZERO sense at this point and time. As always thanks for the post.

Strong shouldn't be considered for the LSU job. Period.

That would be a disaster! Even though I like Strong as a person, he is by no means a good hire because he hasn't accomplished anything with the biggest budget in college football!

So you don't consider the ole miss record AT ALL? Like, it even on the resume anymore?

I completely get that it was several years ago(10 years is not that really long ago), but it should be the #1 thing in his resume.

Lest we not forgot, the only reason he is interim now is because he was a HC before this.......at ole miss. So it got him this oppurtunity in the first place.
