I don't leave it off, I just don't hold it against him as much as it seems everyone else does. That's why he's not my number 1 like he is for some. I know he has just as much potential to fail as he does succeed. My main beef with people on here is overstating the OM record. If he hasn't grown as a coach and learned something from the great coaches he's been under then something must be wrong. He should be a career DL coach. However, if he has much improved, and learned from his mistakes of the past as he says he has, then I think he deserves an unbiased second chance at it. He is very smart. We can see that from his flawless PR campaign going on now. He should be able to turn that intelligence into on the field success.
I'm one of the ones who think that if we miss on our top choices, and O does as well as he has been, then he should get a short leash as HC. 2 year contract, no buyout. Keep him hungry. If he continues to do well then great. He will prove he can succeed, if not, then we're right back where we started with no monetary loss.
I'm also hoping he does well because if he doesn't, and we miss on our top choices, then LSU football could possibly get very bad very quick.
