I didn't assume it from the first. There was another incident at Rutgers, but he wasn't as clearly the leak in that case thus the need to hedge.

Here is Shaun King basically confirming it was Schiano in Tampa Bay.

we have now become Tennessee. Anyone mention Gruden switching sides and becoming DC?

Because he broke Federal law by leaking the details of Josh Freeman's medical condition and drug situation, likely did the same thing at Rutgers, destroyed two NFL organizations, one of which he wasn't even employed at, he would likely undermine Miles and weaken the team. Nothing short of a disaster hire, in my opinion. These are all the reasons why the guy hasn't gotten a gig doing anything else since the Glazer's kicked his arse to the curb.

I had forgotten about all this. Perhaps this is why he is not in coaching. You may be on to something.

We allegedly couldn't afford to keep Chavis, or sway Venables/Pendergast, but we are now in the mix with an all star college coach with (albeit not so great) NFL HC experience.

Yea...

Here are some basic details about his secret deals with Rutgers that may have broken State disclosure laws.

Per 247 poster, TIFWIW. Occured last night.

What exactly occurred last night? The poster's post? Or a supposed meeting?

That's on Rutgers, not him.

Yeah just read that. Don't think he did anything wrong. Rutgers was the guilty party here.

Only if you believe he didn't insist it be kept secret as some people have reported. The guy has a huge list of problems. Lots of smoke.

I'm sad that this thread got the anchor. It was fun while it lasted.

Then again the first couple of Cam Cameron threads got the anchor when he was in the hunt...

just hire him. People thought Lane Kiffin & Saban would be a marriage from hell. So far, it works.

Poster said "VERY interesting conversations tonight... Greg Schiano will get an interview and a close look from LSU officials for the LSU DC position" last night.

So, the "conversations last night" could mean either the poster with people in the know, or LSU with Schiano's people.

The primary reason I wish this rumor was true is that LSU is actually talking to people outside of their own staff. I could care less if it is Schiano but if this were true it would mean they weren't settled on Brick yet.

Even so, if someone "insists" that I break the law, I'm telling them where to get off at.

I'd take Brick and O over Steele or Stoops.

Shiano has no southern recruiting ties or atleast I doubt he does
He was well regarded for his Florida ties while at Rutgers... before he coached at Tampa Bay. He was very overpaid at Rutgers though... maybe his price tag has come down since.

I'll agree with you there, but the silence is deafening.
