Why is it not sounding positive?

Cause both Jimbo and Herman don't sound really interested based on that article. I just want one of those two guys and feel LSU needs to make it happen.

Everyone knew that three of those names (Saban, Meyer, and Stoops) were no chance of basically no chance. We will see what the future brings for the other two but I don't think there is much to read one way or the other on either one yet.

It's fricking sept they aren't gonna say they are even remotely interested this early.

Nobody's going to be interested in the job in the middle of the season. Come December though...

Jimbo denied the claims just as much last year when the process was going on behind the scenes. Coaches lie. They have to in order to not breach their contract.

Brian Kelly

I think he was on our radar years ago after Miles flirted with Michigan but outside of 2012 what has he done?

An article written 4 games into the season that doesn't cite any particular source is not a good reference on whether Jimbo or Herman are interested. Even if Herman is chomping at the bit, it is something he won't want to focus on until December or January.

Like they know a damn thing.

This thing won't even really get into high gear until November. No good coach is going to want to let anything leak this early in the season.

Read the article closely. Other than Nick and Urban being out of the question (Surprise, Surprise), there's nothing else there of substance to support any of his so-called conclusions.

If they really contacted urban Meyer and Nick saban, I'll be really disappointed. That's just stupid on another level.

Well, it's reality, for today and today only.

Herman is going to keep his cards confidential while he sees how his Houston team plays out the season. As far as I've read, Herman might have choices to go to: LSU, USC, Texas, and now maybe, Notre Dame (if Kelly leaves or is fired). Doesn't get much hotter than that.

Reporters keep stoking the fires of Houston's potential, but Houston does not have the facilities that the other schools have. Saying financial backers will build them is smoke and mirrors. I mean, I don't think 80,0000 plus fans are attending Houston's home games, and if they are, it is a recent phenomena. Plus, Big 12 doesn't seem to fired up about adding any teams at this time. The vote is split league wide. So...

footballscoop.com has been a leader on coaching changes, so I would trust them over anyone else (press, local radio, etc.).

Herman is not a Houston lifer. Houston is a second tier program and he thought hard about South Carolina last year. He's leaving after this year as his stock will never be higher. The only question is where.

these sites are puppets for the coaching agents and they're going to say exactly what needs to be said right now to keep in season pressure off their clients.

I keep seeing Stoops' name mentioned so sounds like he'll be getting an extension soon.

He suggests Brian Kelly? If we are gonna go after a coach named Kelly, it needs to be the one in San Francisco.

Yeah I guess I should not have said it didn't sound positive. I understand what y'all are saying.
