By being so candid about Mangas/Peetz and Freeman this morning, O better close these deals this week.

He explicitly called them his number 1 choices and when they’d be interviewing. No cloak and dagger, behind closed doors shite.

If he seals the deal, great, looks like 2 excellent hires. But man if he doesn’t, that’s a big problem.

His job is likely dependent on who he hires, so yeah I’d go all in too

I think it’s all a done deal and the trips to BR are to finalize signatures on contracts. In the age of zoom meetings you don’t need face to face interviews to get deals in place.

Hannigriff said as much at noon today, Orgeron is all in on his DC and OC, these are the guys he wants, they top his list, O’s noted so publicly which Hanny didn’t think was smart.

If not, this is the behavior of a moron. And I like the guy but come on. What a self own.

All I know is that I really want to see us close on Freeman. I think he will be able to make our D very effective by current D standards.

O doesn't seem to have a filter when it comes to making public statements. There are some things you can have candor about and some you just don't say. Example: this and when he thinly-veiled bashed Aranda saying "the defense looks better under Pelini than at any point last year"

Their agents get unneccesary leverage in negotiations. I would not out that out there like that.

For the offensive guys, I think you're right. In the Covid era, there's no need to have people travel for an interview..particularly Mangus who O already knows. I believe its been confirmed that Peetz and Mangus were traveling to BR correct? That would signal to me they're done deals

I don't remember seeing the same on Freeman...just word that he's interviewing this week which may be a zoom interview.

In the long run, baw intuition is a good character strength. Baws know when to kick it into high gear. Fast Eddie is resident baw #1 in the great state of Louisiana. He knows it’s put up or shut up time...Again. He has already done it once...

Going all in doesn't mean making your first choices public.

No, looks like he's coming to BR on Thursday.

CEO on Off the Bench

"We're finding the right fit and knowing exactly what we want on offense and defense," Orgeron said Tuesday on Off the Bench. "We have done a lot of research, there are many great candidates, I've got two guys coming in today, my top guy on defense will be in on Thursday and see where that goes. Hopefully we can end it there."

How do you know the leverage is unnecessary? If Ed is nothing else, he’s a salesman. Maybe he’s purposefully saying this stuff to help recruit these coaches? If they’re coming interview, I imagine they have a rough dollar amount known already.

Better be.

No one else is going after peetz, so that is probably done.

Freeman is getting 2.5 mil or more if its a done deal
