I am not pro-Fedora. I'm all in for Herman and Jimbo would be my second choice. However, I'm not entirely convinced that Jimbo is a significantly better coach then Fedora. I kind of see it as a 2a. and 2b. situation. Fedora does coach at UNC which is a basketball school. He only has 3 losses so far in a tough conference. He also has a head to head win over Fisher. His defense isn't great, so give him a good defense and see what he can do.

Again, I want Herman before either of these guys. I just don't see why so many bash a coach like Fedora when has proven more to me over this past year then Fisher has. He's a young enthusiastic coach. Don't look at Fisher for his past, but rather look at him for what he's done recently. If we are looking at coaches for what they've done several years ago then we would still have Miles. I don't see Fisher's team improving from year to year. I see them getting worse.

I'd just like some info on maybe what I'm missing or why Jimbo is "so much better" than Fedora.

I think Fedora should be behind Gundy or Fuente.

I think the important difference between Gundy and Fedora if both wanted the job is that LSU doesn't need a program builder. It's built. What's needed is a program improver and maintainer. Gundy has the edge in that comparison.

Fedora down the list. Aranda will leave if Fedora is hired.

I think fedora would be a fine candidate if it didnt appear imminent that it is either going to be JF or TH.

If he were named he would, unfairly, be held against their potential as LSU coaches.

Fair enough. I just don't see over the past 2 seasons Jimbo's proof of why he's such a better coach than any of these other guys.

Why are the last 2 seasons the only ones that matter?

I think Gundy is a decent coach. Do I think LSU deserves better? Of course. But I think Gundy would be a decent pick.

But for now let's do some voodoo for Herman to get his arse here.

I didn't say the past 2 season are the only ones that matter. I'm saying that I don't see his teams improving or maintaining. He's in a decline like Miles. Sure, he has a championship, but that was years ago with one of the best college QBs of this decade.

Jesus 2 years without going to the playoff and you're in a decline. I swear some of you are morons.

Who recruited and developed that QB?

And @ "years ago" like 2013 was soooooo long ago

He would be a good choice. The garbage about his teams not playing defense is just stupid. You have to look at when he plays fast and slow. For example when he was at So Miss, they beat the Sumlin coached undefeated Coogs who were playing for a bid to play us. He won that game with defense and ball control.
I'm not sure Aranda wouldn't mind an offense scoring more than 28 points per game.
These kids on here have not followed some of these coaches for a long time.

I don't think it's moronic to believe that his teams haven't been improving but only getting worse. Is there really a giant difference between 2011 and 2016 and 2013 and 2016? Not really. You don't need several years to determine the pattern of coaching going on. You can tell in 3 seasons. Jimbo recruits top 5 talent every year. There's no reason he shouldn't be in the top 10 in the conference he plays in with losses to Louisville and Clemson. A 63-20 loss to Louisville is absolutely terrible. Why'd we get rid of Miles? He was not developing the top 5 talent we have.

Well he has beaten "the chosen one" jimbo the last two years, at a basketball school. So while he may be down the list, he is ahead of jimbo imo.

To draw a parallel, it's like LSU losing to Kentucky in back to back seasons. Can you imagine the melt down here if that happened. I honestly don't get the allure of Jimbo. Yes he won a natty, which is the positive. Otherwise, he has been an average ACC team and is currently in a decline.

Also, like I said, I don't think Jimbo is a bad hire at all. I just think there are coaches that can do the same thing he can for less money. He would be my second choice after Herman, but between Jimbo and other coaching candidates I don't see much of a drop off. I see Herman as Usain Bolt and then there's the rest. That's just my personal belief.

Would rather Gundy, but I don't see that happening. I'm not freaking out over a Fedora hire personally.
