"Michigan, which is in the midst of searching for a new football coach, has reached out to LSU coach Les Miles through his agent, a source close to the situation told The Detroit News on Tuesday."

LINK

Same link also has an embedded video with an insider stating that Hackett, the interim AD, "wants Les Miles" but that "some in the Michigan administration are worried that they'll do a dance with Miles and he'll ultimately back out at the last minute, kind of making the Wolverines look bad."

Hackett and Miles are friends, so things are getting interesting.

Also on a side note, the article states that Cutcliffe was not offered the UM job, and Duke also says the same.

Wondered the very same thing...what coach would take the Meeeechegan job knowing the guy that hired you could soon be gone?

If I could ask for one thing this Christmas, it would be a billion dollars.

If I could ask for two things this Christmas, they would be: 1) a billion dollars, and 2) for Miles to go to Michigan.

Maybe,

But the ball is in Miles Court now.

Only he will know how this all turns out.

I don't think Miles would spend a lot of time on it unless he was going to do it.

If he's not i think he will tell them rather quickly

That's a no on the billion dollars so far. Miles to Michigan remains a possibility and, quite frankly, is the more realistic of my two wishes.

I absolutely knew this is what's happening.

They don't want to look bad if Miles says no.

We knew all of this, right? Or was it just conjecture that's been confirmed?

Miles could hold a press conference giving his answer and nobody in Baton Rouge or Ann Arbor would know where he's coaching next year.

We'd probably come out thinking he's appearing on DWTS.
