UGA can pay him 5 mil per of course, that's something to watch in the next few weeks. UGA's AD wanted to fire Richt after last season and bring Mullen in but President Morehead overrode it and gave Richt a raise to boot. Dan would have accepted the job last yr, frankly I want Tom Herman in Athens but Mullen is a definite upgrade over the worst HC in the SEC.

I don't see Richt getting fired this year. He has too much class and is so nice.

It's truly 50-50, the higher ups are not happy at all. We will find out early next week if he's still the HC, who gives a shite about being so nice? That's his and UGA's main problem, screw that garbage. This is football not Sunday school, he should have been terminated after 2010.

You're absolutely right. Every coach in the east is worried about UGA getting a real coach

With Beamer moving out, it opens up recruiting the DC area. Merlins could lock it down.

There are several like posted on this board saying Dan was a serious candidate. Why go with a lesser coach if Dan is so "serious" about getting out of Starkville?

Feldman was the same person who said Mullen to Pitt was a done deal.... Solid info there.

Has Mullen ever been scary sans Dak?

The losing SEC record and all or is that just Mississippi State's ceiling? He was good at beating Houston Nutt. Maybe his career highlight reel.

This Mullen love is similar to Kevin Sumlin love during the Manziel days.

He's a good coach. I won't contend that he's not. But I would imagine LSU, FSU, Georgia could all do much better. Unless Dak has a younger clone coming to run that offense for a couple of seasons for said schools.

Can they match the $4.2 mil Dan is making at State?

Their biggest booster owns Under Armour they could pay Mullen 10 million a year if they wanted to.

Maryland could make a run one day. Pretty good geographic area to recruit from and in the Big.

Granted they have to play Penn State, Mich, Mich ST. and Ohio each year, but that is probably easier than the West right now --- and I doubt they would be expected to win their division any time soon. Doubt Mullen would go there, but if they get the right coach they could do really well with their set up.
