Well, if we believe that there's mutual interest between LSU and Helfrich, he's available RIGHT NOW. Why wait on LK? There's no guarantee that if LK is gone that Helfrich will be there waiting. Doesn't make sense to me.

because Orgeron wants Kiffin.

I'm not happy with the Orgeron hire, but what indication do you have that the OC search is problematic?

There are plenty of talented OC available. Several schools haven't even hired a head coach yet and will have finalize entire staffs.

If Kiffin is indeed the top choice, LSU will be in no difficult position having waited a couple weeks for it to pan out.

LSU could hire Kendall Briles, Sterlin Gilbert or any number of OC prospects today or in two weeks.

We are all mostly bummed about the head coaching hire, but's let's not get dramatic.

I know he wants him but Orgeron needs to run this like a business. LK is not his friend in this matter, he is a potential employee.

Has you ever interviewed with a company and they told you that they'll wait on you and not pursue any alternatives until you make up your mind? That's absurd. And LK is doing this the right way for himself; LSU is clearly his backup. Why would Orgeron make him his #1 guy knowing that LK has eyes for another job? There is asymmetry here.

O should go about his search as if LK isn't coming, because he if wanted to be here first he would have said so by now. Not saying he should pull the offer and make a decision immediately like they did with O, just go about business, go on interviewing interested candidates and make the best hire with someone that is qualified and will commit to LSU.

That Sark story sounds 100% like something you float intentionally to keep the damaged goods as damaged goods. This comes in handy when others are seeking him, *or* when he actually jumps ship.
I've thought about this as well. And if there's nothing to prove it, I wouldn't let that shy me away. I think O knows Sark and would know the truth anyway.

I hope we have a better second pick. Don't want him. Give me Sonny Combie, Applewhite, K. Briles others.

What's the deal with, Sark? What did he supposedly do, and where are the rumors coming from?

As I posted in a previously whacked thread about a week ago, Helfrich very much on the radar. Some other names im hearing are Kendal Briles and Kevin Wilson. Sark would be contacted but he's all but locked in at Bama. Make no mistake, Kiffin is the top target. Again... simply relaying info

Since I know for a fact the Sark info is wrong. Can I just assume the rest is garbage as well?

So we can't do any better than Helfrich, Briles or Wilson. "We're gunna get the best coordinator to Baton Rouge." Not even a look at Matt Canada, if we have a bad season next year, Orgeron should be fired immediately

I loved Canada's offense at Pitt, but he has had some struggles elsewhere. Remember when Cam and Crowton had record setting years here, and then crashed and burned. There is reason to be a little wary of him, as this year could be a perfect storm outlier.
