Coaching Search Update: we're in the final act

From my sources. Some of this may already be out there in some threads, but this is an overall cohesive summary from credible individuals.
The next two days are about Herman and Texas. His people will entertain discussions with interested schools, which will likely include Texas. Texas will have to move quickly to avoid missing the boat. They likely will move quickly. Insiders believe Herman will probably choose Texas, but nothing's final. If he doesn't choose Texas right away, LSU hopes to meet with him sometime over the weekend.
LSU will meet with Coach O Friday and he'll be provided an opportunity to make his final pitch. His pitch will include long term goals, plan, and offensive coordinator. They're saying his plan will include Kiffen and that he actually stands a good chance to pry him from Saban. This will be tempting for Alleva and Co.
LSU hopes to meet with Fisher either late Saturday night or early Sunday. Sources say he is more than interested.
Decision will be made not long after the final meeting, maybe even over night Saturday depending on Fisher. Will be announced Monday, but expect it to be leaked on Sunday.
Jimbo is still the heavy front runner. You may see him in Baton Rouge a week from today.

Lane Kiffin should have nothing to do with LSU. Ever.

Fisher Saturday night won't happen. Fsu has a game that day

O should not be considered. Alleva is choking if he never consulted either herman or Jimbo in the last 2 months

I credit Orgeron for righting LSU's ship when it was practically lifeless under Miles. But LSU needs a brand new ship, not something that's been refurbished.

I sure hope the meeting with Fisher over the weekend is simply to sign documents and that details are already worked out. If not, I'm concerned we get stuck with O who will be dependent on qualified coordinators on both sides of the ball and that is a risky move in my book. No way, he will be able to sustain Aranda quality coordinators for long as those guys move on to Head Coaching jobs. Not a sustainable model going forward. People need to think beyond next year.

what happens if Kiffin moves after one year? Kiffin is not an offensive genius without Bama OLine and lack of holding calls.
Kiffin won shite with his offense at Tennesse.
You are paid AD money to make bold decision and cut people. O's record is same as Les miles record against goog to medicore teams. Atleast les lost to a top 10 and top 15 team.

Doesn't FSU play Florida at like 7PM Saturday night? I would think a Sunday meeting with Fisher at the earliest.

Kiffin is not a great offensive coordinator. He's largely carried by that Bama defense.
Would laugh.. We'd be going from les miles and his BBQ buddies to a DL coach and his BBQ buddies

O has to have somewhat of a inkling that he is in over his head as head coach right? I understand why he would push for the job anyway, not many people would pass up making millions even if you knew you weren't qualified.

IMO we should have offered Herman 7 million right after Guice was stopped short

If Alleva hires Coach schmO based on some incredible and unverifiable promise that he'll bring in Kiffen, just burn Tiger Stadium down with the entire Athletic Department inside. Hiring O would be one of the dumbest choices in the dubious history of our AD.

I thought we were trying to build and maintain a culture of excellence, something Saban instilled while he was at LSU.
If they seriously still hire Orgeron I'm gonna hope it gets so bad that Louisiana Tech becomes the state's flagship school.
The good ole boy coonasses down south would deserve nothing less.

At this point in the game, it seems that the only logical thing left to do is get signatures. If a deal hasn't been struck by now, we'll likely be stuck with O and the admin should get an arse whipping.
BTW, I heard from a credible source Friday that O was definitely trying to get Kiffen, and they they were leaning towards him if he could make that happen. Of course that was before the unthinkable happened Saturday and we blew the Sugar Bowl chance.

This sums it up perfectly. Coach O hit the ground running by giving quotes to the media that made him out to be the anti-Miles. He knew what got Miles fired, and he kept talking about "flipping the script", "playing for 60 minutes", and "being balanced". LSU has tried to do that but the closer Coach O got to stealing that permanent job, the more our offense reverted back to conservative. We didn't take many chances last weekend because Coach O was trying to just hold on to the job.

frick that shite.
You do NOT hire Orgeron based on him having a "good chance" to land Kiffen.
How good? 50 percent? What if he can't get Kiffen? That's bullshite any mid-level manager should see through.
Alleva is going to need something official--at least a phone call or secret face-to-face with Kiffen.
I know, the chances of that happening are practically zero.
Well ... that's Orgeron's problem, coming up with certain proof that he will reel in a top offensive coordinator.
The fact that he needs one is a disqualifier.
