I credit Orgeron for righting LSU's ship when it was practically lifeless
I agree with your post except this part.
Exactly how was the ship righted? Completely uninspired, predictable offensive showing against the only 2 legitimate defenses we played.
And whether Guice got in or not on the final play was irrelevant.

ane Kiffin should have nothing to do with LSU. Ever.
Like the guy or not, got to give him credit for what he's been able to accomplish since he's been there with 3-4 different FIRST YEAR staring qbs.
It's fricking impressive.

Well ... that's Orgeron's problem, coming up with certain proof that he will reel in a top offensive coordinator.
Correct! We're going to select O based on a promise we have no way of knowing he can keep? I can't believe Alleva is that profoundly stupid.

but whether u get Kiffin or not, Orgeron should not be considered for this job. On Saturday, he looked as clueless on the sidelines as Les usually does.

Well, I guess it's official. We have tards running the Athletic Dept.
Why don't we save a salary and make Kiffin/Aranda co-HCs?
This is brilliant.

They're saying his plan will include Kiffen and that he actually stands a good chance to pry him from Saban. This will be tempting for Alleva and Co.

any plan that includes Orgeron as HC is absolutely stupid.

The fact the O did not use his weapons wisely showed that he will be no better than Miles. There is no reason that LF and Guice could not have been in the game when it was on the line. Fournette was on the sideline grinning and laughing. If he would have been run out on the field as a dive decoy it would have been a given that Guice would be untouched. O has said numerous times that we'd see this, but when it counted he couldn't even have his team focused enough to know what play to run. Instead of letting them wander around dancing to pump up the crowd, he should've had Guice in the huddle and make damn sure he knew that the game was on the line with HIM. Unacceptable coaching at this level.
If he's hired we're in for much more of the same lackadaisical bullshite we've had to endure. He had the shot, and bringing in Kiffen will not change his success. I was all in on O, but it's obvious that LSU needs to go elsewhere and get a coach that takes his job seriously. Florida owned him, and exposed him for a Miles double.
Good thing is that we only have to wait a week for this to be over. Hopefully a deal is done with either Herman or Fisher, but the way they've strung it on with O might have screwed that up.

First off, if Kiffin is so important that O's job is based on it, then hire Kiffin as head coach based on him retaining O.
Second. No coaching search short list is Complete if you don't have Gruden's name on it.

I don't think they're really considering O any more. They're giving him a chance to give his pitch for the job in the hopes that he'll stay on when someone else gets it because we gave him a "fair shot" at the job.

O would be fall back and always was. Herman then Fisher in that order for me. O with Kiffy is better than Fedora.

The next two days are about Herman and Texas. His people will entertain discussions with interested schools, which will likely include Texas. Texas will have to move quickly to avoid missing the boat. They likely will move quickly. Insiders believe Herman will probably choose Texas, but nothing's final. If he doesn't choose Texas right away, LSU hopes to meet with him sometime over the weekend.
Why in the frick would you let Texas beat you to the punch?

awesome. we are talking about basing a hire on a coordinator that will probably won't be here past a cup of coffee.

You wait until they've made their pitch so you know what you have to beat and decide if it's worth it. If LSU offered first, Texas would be in a much better position to counter with a better offer.
