Was told today the biggest knock against pursuing Petrino isn't his baggage but rather the "financials that surround securing him."

Sounds like Petrino was / is being considered more than I or we originally anticipated

LSU shouldn't take the gamble with Petrino.

Not worth the risk, IMO.

Yea can't see him leaving Louisville again. He won't make that mistake again especially now that they are in the ACC

Jesus. We would have to eat that? So we would have to pay Miles, Louisville, and Petrino? Yikes...

Wow in the interview with Bertman a few weeks ago he basically shite on Petrino he doesn't like him at all. I wonder if that will have any effect with Alleva. I just don't see this one happening.

Yeah Petrino isn't getting hired at LSU. If people/sources are throwing his name out there, it tells me that LSU already has its guy locked up, because everyone in official capacity at LSU knows Petrino to LSU ain't happening, so it would be really weird to float the name unless it served a purpose (i.e. Smokescreen or stall or appearance of a search or bargaining chip with their guy)

O is the most economical option, Kelly or Petrino are the other 2 best alternatives.

His baggage should be a fricking concern. Because he carries it into every recruit's home, sets it down beside the table, and crosses his fingers that Mom and Dad either don't bring it up.

He also brings it into meetings when he's trying to hire assistants to work for him. But most importantly, he carries it with him on the sidelines, in every press conference, in every interaction he has while representing LSU. It may not eliminate him completely, but it damn sure better be a fricking concern.

Someone is locked up or LSU is really striking out in intrest...

There is no in between.

I think I'd rather retain Coach O over hiring Petrino. And I'm far from an O advocate.
