The rant would love the size difference between JDR and Saban at midfield as well.

Also I think there is a certain lure for the spotlight. Th Jags never sell out the stadium, and despite the fact that have some of the best teams in the AFC over the last few years no one ever really recognizes them. On the other hand at LSU he would have everything pointing to him. 92k people at every home game, a team that get national recognition etc. etc.

There are a few NFL teams that are basically dead-end jobs. Jacksonville has gotten to the playoffs in 5 seasons (probably 6 this year), they are in their 13th year of existence and have a winning franchise record. That is ridiculous (the Saints have a losing franchise record and they have been around much longer). HOWEVER, Jack Del Rio is slowly turning this team into a contender, and beating Indy this week would put them in the spotlight a bit. They would run to 9-3 and tied for their division lead. If he has a lure for the spotlight, here is his chance to make it in the NFL.

There will still be the Patriots. The JAgs are one of the least supported NFL franchises, and I don't think that will change even if he has a divisional lead.

Del Rio Statement:

Jack Del Rio was a tough physical football player in his earlier career which I admire.

I will not however support him as a head coach hire.

Nor will I support Tom Tubberville as a hire due to his lack of quality sportsmanship over the last 4 years against L. S. U. Tommy was also hammered in his own stadium in 2003 by The University of Southern California.

If Hunter knew JDR's air mattress policy, he'd quickly climb aboard.

The Brian Kelly bandwagon thread doesn't even deserve to share a board with this one.
