No idea how legitimate it is, but several Texas fans in my office say that he is high on Brown's list.

If he ends up the choice, we'll be DC shopping because we can't compete with their $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

UT folks are claiming that they would pay between $800k and $900k to hire him.

why is this becoming an every year thing...wasnt he pretty loyal to tenn. last year he threatned to go to georgia and we gave him a raise and now this..if he is not happy here, he should go

I hope so.
He's not the type to just jump at $$$$... I think a big draw to the UGA job was being closer to family though.

if texas hires wilcox would UT call him home?
Then again he was a pretty big fulmer guy so I'm not sure how he feels about tennessee now.

dear mack brown,
geaux frick yourself. do you have an original thought in your head? not that i blame you for stealing any and every assistant from the SEC, but this is getting out of hand. in closing, stay away from the chief

I could see him playing for Dooley but I don't know what grudge, if any, he olds against the AD.

Good question.
I think he probably has beef with the AD though.

didnt the chief say something to the effect of: i want to retire as the LSU DC? like he wanted this to be his last job?
Posted on 12/28/10 at 2:44 pm to The King
Mack is in a bad spot unless he comes out and says
"I am coaching for at least 4 more years".
with WM under contact as HCIW, many thought he would retire soon.
Why would a DC move his family if he thought the guy might retire any day now?

Money, exposure, chance to coach one of the most talented defenses in the country and if you do a good job you may het to be the next HCIW. Oh yeah, did I say money because your salary for one year will be more than you can make in two years anywhere else.
