this story is almost a week old and it only referenced him as a second tier candidate. don't worry about chavis to UT
I'm definitely not saying that it's happening, but I have heard that he is Brown's second choice after Wilcox. I knew that people would ask for a link, and that was the only one I could find. But it's not the only source for this information. Some folks on this thread say that Chavis has already turned them down. If that's the case, then maybe it's a nonissue. But I don't think it's a nonissue because of a lack of interest on UT's part.

You missed the stellar LB play when the LB guru was here? Drop linebackers FTW.

No it wouldn't. Chavis is very, very solid but far from irreplaceable.

Think he boarders on great at times but not many ppl would consider him a top 5 DC. He's had too many mediocre defenses and he can't defend the mobile qbs very well

Who really is out there? I can't think of anyone I would want off the top of my head.

thats why i prefer to just keep chavis here. he may not have elite, super-high end defenses- but for the most part they rank well. and i worry if miles kicks the new DC hire, we'll be stuck in the same situation as were in with crowton where he doesnt want to fire him, wants to wait so he can collect bonuses and miss out on the premier guys b/c he waited too long. until miles proves otherwise, im always scared thatll be the situation with under performing coordinators

Can you think of any offensive coordinators you might want? And when I say "you", I'm also saying "Les Miles".

Logan would be a good hire IMO. Definetley would coach up the QBs

That's a pretty big change from your previous opinions about Chavis as I recall.

At LSU, nothing is the end of the world...everyone is replaceable. But, I don't want to lose Chavis.

damn son, how old are you 3? 4? forgot about Trev Faulk? Bradie James? Lionel Turner? Ali Highsmith? Darry Beckwith? He is a good LB coach though no doubt but not the best DC. good but not great.
