that just seems like a strange buyout clause...

Declining more or less in parallel with the amount remaining to be paid over the life of the contract that would be getting terminated? Seems economically reasonable to me. (Note to rantards who like to jump on shite: I didn't say EQUAL TO the amount remaining. I said more or less in parallel--i.e., as remaining contract payments go down, buyout amount also goes down).

I dont think there is anyway in hell he would leave Neb for LSU. What would be the reason?

Supposedly, he doesn't get along with the A.D. (esp. after the A&M game), and he doesn't like having to answer to Tom Osborne on everything. Osborne looks over his shoulder and second-guesses him a lot.
Heard this from Lacour who has family up there or something.

He isnt leaving UT. He will be the next HC at Texas.

He's gonna get tired of waiting for Mack to retire.

Muschamp ends up either here or at Georgia...whichever job opens up first.

we're LSU. it doesn't matter who the coach is or where he coaches he would leave immediately for Baton Rouge as quick as Alleva could snap his fingers.

We have at least 2 HCIW in the NFL (LSU's farm system for coaches) and one at Texas. These guys and others are sitting by their phone right now just waiting.

I never said Pelini (or any other coach for that matter) is ejaculating all over himself to come here. I merely indicated that we should put out feelers to gauge his interest.

You think our program isn't worthy of trying to attract a top name or something?

I think our "program" has problems in the way that Miles has been treated by the press and the fan base. He has one the best, if not the best, W-L record of any big time Division I program over the last 6 years (including averaging 10+ wins a season), his players love him, he has won a National Championship, and runs a squeaky clean program. Yet the delusional morons in Tiger Nation are ready to crucify him every time his team fails to make a first down. It's not the paradise you may think it is.

it is but it's one of probably 20 or so top jobs (like nebraska is). it was sonny koufax who said Pelini would come if offered.

The guy is whacky and I don't see him running a major program.

Well whacky seems to not be a deal breaker for LSU at the HC position.

If he was money as you think why did Tech run him?

Because ONE pussy cried about being called out when the Dr's said he was fine to practice but he didnt want to and his Dad happened to be on ESPN.

I say put the whole damn team in the wood shed if they are that big of pussies.

I think you need to look at some of the national media there. After the Tennessee near-debacle, Les was the butt of jokes nation-wide. Is that the fault of the fanbase?

because bo pelini is insane

Many coaches are insane. Sanity isn't a prerequisite for coaching NCAA football. Running a winning program is. Bo hasn't done anything to warrant not hiring him if the chance arises.

Do you honestly think LSU is the best HC job in the SEC?

I do not think it is that easy.

Some of the Texas Tech uppers had it out for Leach from the season before when they gave him a raise and he was levering them for more money to stay.

They had it out for the guy and were looking for a reason that just happened to come along for them.
