Oregon
Alabama
Baylor
Ole Miss
Notre Dame

Pick three. Impressive no matter which way you slice it.

Notre Dame and Rutgers are also in the market for OCs...and Pitt could've counter-offered Canada...still impressive though...

Is that really the only ones that are open? Ole Miss is a definite.

Added Notre Dame. I can't see Rutgers going after Canada.

Mehringer has already been hired at Texas.

But you can add Rutgers, Indiana, and Purdue to the list.

He wants to be a HC, makes sense to go somewhere with talent like LSU to showcase his coaching ability

He wouldn't make more money. Saban doesn't pay his coaches what LSU does. Just being to be around Nick is worth $150-200K in his mind . . .

BS. Hugh Freeze is allergic to rushing the football. He would never hire an OC that likes to run. Cmon man.

He and Chris Ash (Rutgers head coach) were on the same staff at Wisconsin so I could see Ash reaching out to him...but I agree that Canada would not consider it...

He hasn't been officially named OC though...rumor is he'll be the passing game coordinator but don't know what his official title will be...

I have no clue how many other schools had OC positions available besides LSU, Ole Miss, and Bama tbh
I had a thread going on this at one point. I think of the P5 conferences, that's it, unless Oregon's OC slot is still not filled.

edit: I thought Texas had pretty much filled their spot, but maybe not. Did not realize ND is looking for an OC. Cam's available!

remove Bama from the equation and say for whatever reason the Oklahoma OC was open and Canada's options were LSU OC or Oklahoma OC. Which would he take given the weapons, returners, etc?

I'm not saying there aren't scenarios when a coach or player wouldn't choose LSU over Bama. I'm just saying if someone was offered the OC job at Bama (or Oklahoma) and LSU, they'd likely choose Bama (or OU) over LSU based on what talent returns and how well positioned they are for success.

I just did. I read what you posted then I made the most obvious conclusion that you have no idea what schools had offered Canada.

It's also bizarre that you are up in here denying the possibility. What a pointless waste of time.
