Bruce Feldman...
LSU makes it official announcing Pitt OC Matt Canada as its new OC. Canada turned down 3 other Power5 OC jobs in past 48 hrs, per source.

Chances Alabama was one of those schools?

Meh could have already had things signed and worked out. Or maybe he really wanted to be here. Who knows

It is likely because of control

Impossible.
Ones reading the BAMA board and they're telling me he's average at best. I'm fairly certain they know more about what he's done on the field than most college coaches and others that do the hiring.
Jim Bob from Huntsville has me convinced.

I have no clue how many other schools had OC positions available besides LSU, Ole Miss, and Bama tbh.

Well this certainly doesn't fit the narrative of some of the chicken littles around here.

That and the fact that "YOU DON'T TURN DOWN ALABAMA BOY!"

Saban moves like a sloth when it comes to these coordinator hires. I doubt he makes a hire until at least mid-January if he's going out of house.
I know you guys want it to be Bama so bad. Hell, I get it. Gotta say you beat Bama for something.

Alleva pulled the Kiffin offer because Canada wanted to be here.

Right.
Having the autonomy to run the show has the potential to be much or rewarding (not to mention probably getting paid more) than being yelled at and overshadowed by a midget.
