BG has been pretty successful this year and their offense has soared with Babers calling the plays.

Do y'all think he takes a HC job or an OC job and where do you think he ends up?

Yes it has. He's been rumored to Illinois and Mizzou.

I've heard him connected to Maryland as well. He's not their top candidate, but they have interest. He's a good coach, and BGSU is now the favorite to win the MAC, and he went unbeaten against the Big Ten this year.

You could do a lot worse.

He's a good fit as a HC for a lower tier P5 school.

Illinois, Maryland and Mizzou would all be good fits IMO.

I think its funny when people say hey, so and so's name hasn't come up. When a school fires a coach, they do it with likely candidates in mind. If they thought they couldn't realistically get a guy they think is better, why would they fire the coach? Because some idiot a-hole fans say they should?

Every single school can't hire Fuente, Herman, Kiffin, Cowher, Gruden , insert tier A candidate here.

Sure but he could succeed quicker at UCF as opposed to say Illinois or Maryland if he wants a big time job in 2 or 3 years.

Do you guys think he'd take over as an OC at a big name program?

He already was OC in a big program. I want Babers in Nola. Tulane's Assistant A.D. gave him his first head coaching job when she was AD at E Illinois.

Could he though? There's a reason you're bad this year and it doesn't all fall on the ex head coach I'm betting.

Illinois is likely to go to a bowl this year.

YOU would pick UCF. Most guys that will have P5 offers on the table wouldn't. Babers will get P5 offers

And you would pick programs similar to Purdue. Why are those programs better anyway since you want to have this discussion? UCF pays as well or better.

If he gets the mizzou job, sure, ucf can't compete with that. If it's ucf vs the lower tier of p5 jobs then it's close imo. UCF paid o'leary 4 times what Babers makes.

Btw, if you want to watch Babers, BGSU hosts Toledo on ESPN2 at 5 Central time.

I think Doc Holliday the Marshall head coach would be a good hire UCF. His age could keep him from getting a bigger job and he has coached in the state of Florida before.

Babers is 54 and Holliday is 58. Not a massive difference there.

I would hire a guy in that age range to coach a team if it was a good fit. How old was Saban when he went to Bama? Good coaches also coach deep into their 60s so its not like you'd hire Holliday and he'd quit the next day because he's old.
