The school has unlimited resources to pay coaches and improve facilities far beyond the level LSU can provide.

The academic reputation is on a different planet.

The school is located in a state without state income tax.

The area is more desirable to coaches and families.

The recruiting grounds are just as good if not better.

There are more opportunities available in the state after graduation.

Yep and this will be the reason why LSU does not get Herman if it comes down to LSU and Texas

Texas is about to can Strong after taking over a program that needed a total revamp. They really haven't been patient with Strong. Going to can a man not even after 3 seasons? They are basically following the Cleveland Browns formula to winning.

better fan base

Not based on the Rant's opinion. "We have the worst fans in the nation!!!!"...or so I've been told.

I love LSU and it's an awesome job IMO, but anyone who says any answer other than Texas is an idiot.

3 losing seasons in a row at Texas should get you fired

Did you really just suggest that "food" factors into this type of discussion? How fat are you?

It's something you partake in 2-3 times a day. If you actually care about your food tasting good, then ya, it could be part of the draw to the area.

I see you're from Austin, so it makes sense that you find the argument absurd..

LSU & it aint even close! Idiots saying Texas but they haven't been relevant in years. They are already looking for a new coach after just hiring Charlie Strong. Look at how they did Mack Brown. Why would Tom Herman want to deal with that BS??

Additional reasons why LSU is better job than Texas:

TCU

Baylor

Texas A&M

Texas Tech

Not to mention Oklahom & OK State's recruiting in the state of TX

Yep because you realize every coach that comes here mentions food. Even Aranda did

You are delusional if you think a coach would choose LSU over Texas if the offer were the same. The only reason someone would do that is if they had a soft spot for LSU. If you remove that, no coach in his right mind would choose LSU. That's not to say LSU is a bad job, it's just that Texas (and Austin) has a whole lot more to offer.

An offensive coach would rather the big12 for obvious reasons. Austin is a better area to raise a family especially for someone who doesn't have family in Baton Rouge. I can't see someone like Herman choosing LSU over UT. Jimbo would if he had the choice

So let me get this straight, Texas didn't even want Charlie Strong, but yet they hired him. Are you telling me great Texas couldn't get the guy they actually wanted so they settled? Best Job ever huh.

If you lived in Texas and followed the Longhorns would you're answer still be that?

If you are referring to Herman, are you sure that LSU can compete with the money that Texas can throw around??

Bro, Mack was getting smoked on the recruiting trail and let players practically run wild. Strong is recruiting quite well, really well, so why not give him a chance to grow what he has brought in?
