Anyone else feel like hiring CEO is going back to pre-Saban way of doing things?

Feels awfully familiar.

We are literally possibly about to hire a coach that no one else wants.

Nobody has been hired

No decision has been made

LSU plays Bama Saturday. That's it.

Lets take inventory

1. Letting political pressure influence decisions of the program: CHECK

2. Hiring lower tier candidate because he is Cajun and makes the boosters feel warm and fuzzy, and to top it all off you get him on the cheap?!: CHECK

Oh yeah, we're back baby

Y'all are really taking this guy's "insider" knowledge hard. Orgeron has to beat the best team in the country, who looks light years ahead of everyone. It's not nepotism if you are asking the guy to hit a home run at his next at bat or be benched.

Ill wait and see who he brings in. I don't think its presaban. he has done some good things so far like changing practice and including former players. it has a history of working at two of the best programs

As long as we have someone who we love and who is "one of us", who cares. Football isn't a business. It's all fun and rainbows win or lose.

It's gonna be awesome to watch some of you melt down if he beats Bama and is hired. Only LSU fans will throw a temper tantrum over beating the #1 team in front of their home crowd.

Yeah. The more flavor of the week posters, who I'll assume will melt if O loses, are posting all that garbage.

This game will be the only hard game on the schedule with the talent we have. All the others just require a decent game plan, IMO.

I mean, you saw how many games Miles won with no game plan.

I just think Coach O is far too risky, even though I love the guy and still want him to be on staff. Just wish we had another way to justify hiring him besides this season alone.

Agreed. LSU is NOT a big time program if we settle for a DL coach that failed as a HC prior. But what the hell. He's from LA. Yaw, yaw football. Lol

The problem is rationalizing that all he needs to do is win one game and that makes him qualified for the job, when literally everything else he's ever done shows you he isn't.

I personally don't think O should even be legitimately in the running unless he wins out, but I also believe the people freaking out over the potential O hire are being a bit overdramatic.

While he's currently not even in my Top3, O at LSU could work and have big success. It's possible it may not work, but you also have to understand there was no way to envision all the dominos falling into place for O to be in this position. It was certainly good fortune for O, and it just is what it is now... It will all play out one way or another and LSU will be fine.

If O does get the full time job, I can guarantee you there won't be a big buyout, if one at all, and he will be on a very short leash the next 2 seasons.
