Am I alone in hoping we go after phil bennett as dc over anyone else? The guy has done great as a coordinator pretty much everywhere he has been, and obviously has LSU ties. I just think he is the most qualified besides maybe tenuta and without the baggage.

meh....he was the DC at LSU when I was in school

it was widely known that he was the biggest a-hole on the staff, got along with nobody, and many of the players couldnt stand him as a person and didnt want to play for him - plus at that time, he was considered a liability in living rooms on recruiting trips.

That being said, after his wife passed, I understand that he's a different person now, but there's nothing on his resume to make me think he'd be any better than some of the other people listed

everyone needs to focus on Greg Robinson and pray we get him

Rocket mentioned Pete Jenkins may be interested.

interested in what? Pete Jenkins is 100 years old and hasn't been a coordinator in 20 years.

Well, he's 66 and that was what Rocket posted. DC position obviously.

Rocket's obsessed with sucking the dick of anything that ever came near Nick Saban. Why on earth would LSU want a guy from the stone age to be DC?

I don't think anything's there to be quite honest. i just hope we hire an aggressive DC that brings lots of energy to the defense.

yeah i hear you. I'm sure Pete would still be great at DL coach but we can and should hire a DC here with really no question marks. This should disclude guys who've never been DC (Dunbar, Bebe), guys who are puppet DCs (Bumpas) and guys who haven't been a DC since Notre Dame was a national power.

He'll come with a price tag. Can we afford it?

Football is the golden goose. Open up the pocketbooks and the investment will be well worth it with the talent this team has.

at this point I'll take an a-hole over an incompetent(s). Re Robinson -- Texas didn't seem too thrilled w/ him.

Phil Bennett is the white Terry Robiskie.

A journey-man coach with past LSU ties that Rantards will bring up whenever we have a coordinator slot open.

He and Clark schemed that up at Saban's cafe over a bowl of Jimbo Gumbo while creating the double flex wishbone maryland I formation featuring big herm, trindon, russell shephard and blake dean.
