Im just saying hes done good wherever hes been and he can defend the spread option...he does it against WVU every year and last years game was quite possibly the best defensive effort I have ever seen on any level

I believe Phil Bennett was head coach at SMU last year; I don't think he was the defensive coordinator (DC) for Pitt in last year's game against WVU. I believe Paul Rhoads (currently Auburn's DC) was Pitt's DC for that game.

Are we talking about the same players who lobbied for him to replace Mike Archer as head coach?

Rocket's obsessed with sucking the dick of anything that ever came near Nick Saban. Why on earth would LSU want a guy from the stone age to be DC?

Perhaps not DC, but DL coach. He's currently the DL coach for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was at LSU long before Nick Saban. I believe he actually goes back to Jerry Stovall's staff at LSU and was retained by Bill Arnsparger.

What are you, 10 years old? You must not be old enough to remember Bennett's stout LSU defenses in the mid-90s, the "go tell Little Bowden he got his butt kicked" game. True, the overall team sucked under Curley Hallman, but Bennett coached an aggressive, blitzing style of SEC defense. He should be a strong candidate for the job. However, I don't give a rat's if it's him or not, as long as we get a DC that KNOWS HOW TO COACH DEFENSE IN THE SEC
