ESPN Radio host Paul Finebaum reported on his show on Tuesday that while Brown's immediate future will be the immediate focus on the national media, there could be news in the near future on Saban and his future with Alabama. "You're also going to hear a lot more about Nick Saban because he has a contract on his desk that's been there since Friday - and today is Tuesday," he said. Finebaum did not cite a source for the information.

If it's a Burnt Orange contract, done deal awaiting his signature. If it's a Crimson contract, even more interesting that he hasn't signed it yet..

Can't sign it too quickly. That's leaving millions on the table.

Really? Finebaum has also repeatedly said there is zero chance of Saban going to Texas

The more time that passes and the contract on his desk goes without a signature, the higher the odds that he's gone....

Ken Hatfield had a contract from us that sat on his desk. He ended up going to Clemson.

Just sayin...

Or he's already signed it. I doubt he'd call up the nerd and give him updates.

Time for Alabama to put the screws to him and tell him to stop being greedy or they'll just go steal Malzahn and get better results for half the price.

I remember a college coach I am friends with a few months ago said Saban has about as much a chance going to UT and Auburn does going to atlanta.....

The real question here does Saban continue to try to frick LSU in recruiting if he goes to Texas? We all know it was part of his strategy to just take Louisiana recruits and if they panned out, great if they didn't, who care...processed and weakens their biggest rival. Now I wonder if he'll recruit Texas and think in his head, "LSU is the one program that can beat us in NC so we'll continue to take their recruits!" They're good enough to start for Texas anyway. Either way, Saban to Texas is probably a bigger negative than him at Bama. I doubt he stops recruiting Louisiana with his ties and he'll make it that much harder to even step into our biggest OOS recruiting area.

How does Finebaum know what's on top of Saban's desk? He spends all his time on his knees under it

He's gotta coach the bowl game first

He wouldn't spurn his sweet lil Alabama honey without a nice win first

Yeah, the report sounds like BS.

Which party has any sort of incentive to leak that?
