Fyi. I'm not sure if everyone is aware of the Coppermind which is a wiki of info from the books. Just have to be careful of spoilers if you aren't caught up on reading everything. It's very useful to find little nuggets of info that Sanderson included in the books but people glossed over.

Also it's the repository for the WOBs (words of Brandon) which is answers to questions, lore etc that people ask him and considered canon. Though he always he says he has the right to change anything before putting in the books.

There is a massive amount of WOBs he has given over the years. There is at least one person in his company whose full time job is to maintain the continuity etc across the Cosmere.

Whenever you’re all caught up on his books his spoiler chats on YouTube are great. He answers fan questions from Reddit usually for 2 hours while signing books the whole time. The theories those guys ask him blow my mind and where a lot of the WoB come from.

Just finished edgedancer. Great little book.

Szeth is still an awesome character. Nin the Herald of Justice was a surprisingly well done character. As was Lift.

My favorite line from the book was probably “When one achieves immortality, one must find purpose beyond the struggle to live.”

On to Oathrbringer. Ready for another amazing journey through Roshar.

I remember being a bit bored by Navani's story and her experiments. After a re-read and reading on Coppermind, I have a greater appreciation of what Navani has discovered and implications for the Cosmere.

Just got to RoW on my reread, I hope I enjoy it more this time. I thought it just dragged too much because of her story and didn’t like that story last time. I get it opens up more stuff, just was a boring read.

Damn when Dalinar mercilessly kills Kalanor after their battle on the jagged mountain was brutal. Then he decides he’ll also murder Galivar and take his throne and his wife, but barely stops in time. The Blackthorn was an unhinged animal in his prime.

Sanderson is such a great writer.

Then you get to a Shallan chapter and wonder how this ended up in the same book.

She was by far the worst past of Words of Radiance and she continues to be terrible in Oathbringer. I keep hoping she’ll either stop being such a dipshit or she’ll die. But I keep feeling like he’s going to make her more and more important. And her stupid schizo schtick is just tiresome.

Navani’s were worse for me in RoW, there was important info in those chapters too, so you had to pay better attention than slogging through Shallan’s nonsense.

I'll be enthralled in the exploration of Urithiru and the slow reveal of the voidbringers and then I turn the page and Veil is doing something dumb and immature while worried about how The Radiant would feel about it and also Shallan is late for a business meeting.

Shallan is:

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Lift?

She is ok in the small parts she is in, but her talking about activating her awesomeness is keeping me from reading edgedancer. Seems like she would be annoying as the focus.

I loved edgedancer and she’s actually solid as the lead character. She’s basically just a kid so it’s fun to read what’s basically a classic adventure book with an innocent kid hero. I liked it a lot. And the other characters in Edgedancer are done very well also. Definitely check it out.

I'm 5 books in to the Sandrrson world. Finished the Mistborn trilogy and just finished Shadows of Self. I like series so far but it's not living up to the hype. Does it get better or should I just accept that the series is just ok?

His best books are in the Stormlight series. That said, the general recommendation is to read the books in publication order. Go ahead and read Way of Kings.

I’m with you. Once I came to grips with him being a really entertaining author who writes great page turners, I enjoyed him much more. When I was trying to read him as some kind of literary savant who was the love child of Flanner O Connor and JRR Tolkien, it was too much. He’s an entertaining and prolific author who has created an insanely detailed world concept, and the books are extremely entertaining… but they ultimately feel a little…

Just finished reading Oathbringer. It got to be a chore towards the end. From what I've read about ROW I'm kind of dreading starting it.

I get this way with any book series if I try to get through a lot of books.

I had to stop a few times during the wheel of time series because it was so many books to get through.

Same with the Dresden files, even though the books are much shorter. Actually that reminds me I hope we get another Dresden files book soon.

Edit: same with A Song of Ice and Fire, although that fat bastard has given me a much longer forced break than I wanted.
