I haven't really read the rest of this thread because I don't want anything unintentionally spoiled for me.

I'm about 300 pages from finishing the third Mistborn book - Hero of Ages. I have really enjoyed this journey so far, and I can't wait to see how Ruin is (possibly?) defeated.

I just finished Hero of Ages last night, and man what an ending. Who ultimately became the Hero was and interesting twist, and looking back it makes sense.

I'm reading the 2nd Shattered Sea novel next, then I'll move on to the 2nd era of Mistborn.

Putting this here for all of us to remember

Hey, all. When Stormlight 5 is out and you've read it, remember to ask me what happened in my writing on July 18th. I wrote an important scene yesterday that I think might be worthy of a little extra special notation.

I KINDA saw it coming then started second guessing it when "other more obvious candidates" emerged but shite that payoff

Sanderson nailed the landing with this one. It's become one of my favorite book series I've read. Really it's this and the Phillip Marlowe series for me.

Wrapped up WoR last night. I didn't think you could top WoK but damn.

My favorite quote from WoR:

Wait till you get through Oathbringer. I am just about finished ROW, but so far Oath is my favorite of the series. They are all great though.

Just discovered this thread. I had previously read the Stormlight books as they would release but decided to take a deep dive of the Cosmere recently.
Just finished all Mistborn books including Secret History and re-read Way of Kings. On WoR now. I never read Edgedancer or Dawnshard yet but will make sure to read that in between WoR and Oath and Oath and RoW respectively.

I gotta say.. I REALLY enjoyed Mistborn, especially Era 1 and Secret History. I thought I may have liked those more than the SA books but now that I'm in the thick of things again, I can see I was wrong. But it was still a fantastic journey. Era 2 wasn't really my jam but I still enjoyed them. I just prefer a medieval setting to a Western setting.

Looking fwd to finishing out the SA books. Where do yall recommend I go after that? Elantris?

Have you read Elantris or Warbreaker?

If not I would read those before oath

I haven't, and apparently there are things in those that are playing out in Oath. Sword Nimi, for instance, is in Warbreaker. I'm almost finished Rhythm of War, so at this point it is what it is. I'll knock those two out next and see how characters in Stormlight tie in with these and the Cosmere.

SLIGHT SPOILER:

I was a big fan of a particular character from Mistborn making an appearance in Rythm with the Epigraphs. I like how Sanderson started tying worlds together with this.

I assume you finished Oathbreaker. That makes you an hornary member of r/frickmoash . Though you don't become a true member till after RoW

I am halfway through Rhythm of War right now. Moash is such a shite.

I'm having a hard time remembering a literary character I hate more than him. Seriously. frick that dude.

SPOILERS BELOW Reminder: (this entire thread is open to any spoilers)

Also, when Adolin saves Natan in Shadesmear i was on the edge of my seat sure Sanderson was about to kill him off. I continue to hate Shallan less as the story evolves. And i hope Adolin gets a solid payoff at some point. He has a great story arc so far.

Kaladin is currently moping around the psych ward trying to fix his brain and helping mental patients. Which is good. In real life, i hope mental health is figued out and all....... but dude, swear the next oath and destroy some Fused already. He better turn back into a badass by the end of this thing. Or maybe Adolin will take his place and slay people with a new bond with his dead eyes.

These books are just too much fun to read. Gotta give Sanderson and his editors so much credit for the structure and pacing. They have a great build up pacing, action event, boring Shallan or Navani chapter, another build up, some history, eventual Sanderlanche.

I'll be back when I finish RoW. At that point, other than a few novellas, I'll be 100% complete in all Stormlight books.

Whoever said these books are made for the re-read is 100% correct. I couldn't wait to go back to Way of Kings and re-read everything knowing how the characters evolve. I'm sure there are tons of little things you missed because you didnt even know they were important. So now i'm listening to Way of kings during my commute and reading RoW in the evenings.

I'm obsessed.
