The whole reason I don't believe Stannis is dead is because Tycho Nestoris rode all the way out there to see him. Seems like a wasted plotline if they all died.

Well he sent Massey and Tycho back to the wall before the fighting (if the fighting has happened which I don't think it has.)

This guy is intriguing.

People always talk about how it is a bad idea to stiff the Iron Bank when you owe them money. The Lannisters owe a shite ton of money to the Iron Bank.

I wonder what kind of power these guys yield. Will the Lannisters become vassals of the Iron Bank if they keep ignoring their debt obligations?

The Iron Throne owes money to them, not the Lannisters. The Iron Throne also owes the Lannisters a good bit of money.

Yes, I know the Lannisters control the throne, but the Lannisters do not owe the debt the crown does.

This is why the Iron Bank is meeting with Stannis, Cersie will nto pay back the bank so the Iron Bank is supporting Stannis or will support Stannis. Stannis will have to repay what the Crown owes once / if he is able to take the Throne.

Lets put it this way. Westeros will have a new king thats willing to pay the iron bank. The Iron Bank doesn't care how many kings it has to go through either.

exactly. If the King wont pay what is owed, the bank will support and fund a new king that will.

I've always wanted to tie Littlefinger to the Iron Bank. There is nothing to go one here, except that everyone keeps mentioning how Littlefinger can produce dragons "out of thin air".

It would blow my mind if Littlefinger was the mastermind behind the Iron Bank.

Crrrraaaaack....POT!

I don't recall any mention of Littlefinger spending any time abroad. He could be a powerful agent of the bank, but I don't see him running it.

I can't wait for Crackpot Club.

I'm gonna tie Littlefinger to the Iron bank every time he's mentioned.

(that's right, I just named book club. It's only fitting...)

All this talk of the pink letter...

I agree that its not in Stannis' character to be deceptive...but it looks like whoever (whomever, whatever) wrote it did so with Stannis' interests in mind.

The Iron Banker? could he have gleaned such knowledge from the Northmen of the goings on with Ramsey et al?

ETA: What about Lady Dustin? She went out of her way to advertise hatred for the Starks to Theon...number one rat-fink to Ramsey...she definitely didn't want her loyalty questioned by the Bolton camp...

Me either. I just finished my POVs and I have a couple of new crackpot theories I am saving for discussion.

Littlefinger's father (maybe grandfather) was Braavosi. His sigil was the head of the Giant of Braavos.

He was involved with the navy there, IIRC and that can be tied to some other theories.

Time for some really crackpot theories:
Jon Snow is a Baratheon bastard.
Gendry is the real Targ.
Littlefinger used to be the mayor of Baltimore, involved in a fight club, and is a Bravosi and a Blackfire.
Renly wasn't actually gay, he just pretended to be to get chicks and Loras on his side (think Neil Patrick Harris)

Yes, we just had a little Game of Thrones and The Wire crossover.

Oh and whenever you guys want to start up the discussion in the book thread you can. I know some of you will be up later then me tonight and my Nook's battery died in the middle of finishing up the last chapter.
